Another Awesome Release From LoG Sep 30, 2009 I've been a big fan of Lamb of God ever since I got both "New American Gospel" and "As the Palaces Burn" six years ago, and since then I've gotten all of their CD's, and they've been one of my favorite metal bands, and they're still are to this day. Their latest release, 2009's "Wrath" is simpy an awesome new release that attacks you like a caged animal, pound your face in, and melt through your brain like butter, and afterwards you'll be feeling mighty proud to have enduring the wrath that this album possesses. Trust me, the album's title speaks for itself. These guys just continue to get better and better with every CD they put out. I've never heard an album by Lamb of God that I didn't like, they just don't dissapoint whatsoever. For "Wrath", Lamb of God have brought in Josh Wilbur to handle the production duties instead of Machine (who produced "Ashes of the Wake" and "Sacrament") giving this album a real aggressive and raw sound and feeling from every angle. Randy Blythe is in top form as always, belting out those raging demonic roars that he's best known for, but he also ventures into some melodic screaming every now and then especially on songs such as "In Your Words" and "Set to Fail", while guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler both crank out lots of sharp, meaty, and blistering buzzsaw riffs that are just plain heavy, and they also throw in some excellent solos and some nice melodic touches as well. I really like how these guys are throwing in more guitar solos in their songs now than they did before. Bassist John Campbell keeps the charge going with heavy, hammering basslines, and Chris Adler's drumming is absolutely fast and blistering as hell throughout. Kicking off the album is "The Passing" which is a brief but gorgeous melodic instrumental that leads into the blistering "In Your Words", and that is when the headbanging really begins. "Set to Fail" (which is my favorite song here) has some fast, hammering drums in the beginning, as well as awesome lethal, buzzing riffs, great melodic screams from Randy, and I also love the guitar solo around 2:35, and "Contractor" is a raw, fast, straight forward thrasher that features sick, trail blazing double bass drumming that really rips through your ears. Other blistering cuts that I like here including "Grace" (which starts off with a nice and soft melodic guitar intro before going into another blistering metal onslaught, and there's also another awesome solo included as well), "Fake Messiah", "Everything to Nothing", "Choke Sermon", and the fantastic album closer "Reclamation" which starts off and ends with some excellent acoustic guitars. I definately rank "Wrath" among Lamb of God's best albums, and in my humble opinion, it's also the best album that they've released thus far. It just goes to show that these Virginia boys continue to get better with each release, and they're still a force to be reckoned with in today's metal world. I highly recommend this awesome new album to all fans of Lamb of God and metal alike. Hope I was helpful to the whole metal community. Peace!!

THe new Lamb of God album is...well, ANOTHER Lamb of God album Aug 11, 2009 Look at it this way, Lamb of God has finally reached 2009, and has mastered their musical craft- The screaming, the heavy songs, the drop D tuning... we get it, you're Lamb of God, amnd unless you were in the band, you'd have to be insane to say that this album is their best, or anything new and different. In Mr. Censored's review of Indestructible by Disturbed, he used a similar comparison to the one I'm about to use- A hamburger. If you like hamburgers, you'll love this hamburger because it tastes like a hamburger and goes down like one. Problem is though, there's almost no substance and you, the listener, are left full, but with a stomach ache. LoG are better than that, they know how to write entertaining songs, they know they are a good band. Pretty much, this album is a classic case of when an band goes through the motions, because their record label is calling them up and telling them to get back to the studio, because it's time to go on tour again. Oh yes, this is a LoG album. Not a new one, just another one.
Great Cd, Great band. Jul 14, 2009 This album is like Sacrament, but much, much, much better. It has that dark LOB feel to it, but its also thrashy and a great head banger. If you are a LOB fan dont hesitate to buy this album.
Better than Sacrament Jun 20, 2009 I really like this album. Is it Palaces or even Ashes? No. But this is a pretty good album. I thought Sacrament got boring and Randy's vox had weird production done to them. Here it seems like he can hit all the different growl ranges, even the deeper ones.
