Lamb Of God have done it again!!!! Oct 11, 2009 Lamb Of God have one upped themselves again. This is a blistering album and easily my favourite so far. The sound on this record is just pristine. They sound more raw on this record than they have for a long time but the clarity is just mesmerising. LOG are a speed metal band at heart and this really confirms it. "Contractor" is a beast of a song with a huge ending. "In Your Words", "Set To Fail", "Grace", "Broken Hands", "Dead Seeds" and "Reclamation" are all up there with LOG's best. Blythe has never sounded better with his range, and is getting better with each album. The guitars are breakneck and are typically huge, with Morton playing some of his best solo's. But I think the drums are the most impressive with Chris Adler's machine gun playing and absolute highlight(plus they have never been recorded better - big props to Josh Wilbur!). If you like LOG you will not be disappointed with this effort.

Sorry folks... Aug 25, 2009 This cd bites. I prayed that with the signing to a major label would not change the sound, but it did. The aggressivness of the first three cd's (New American Gospel, As the Palace Burs and Ashes of the Wake) is noticably absent, as is Randy's signature growls, grunts and grools. I am saddened because they had a promising career. Do you remember when NAG crashed the planet with 'Black Label'? That record is A M A Z I N G! It seems as though, some bands start out blistering and turn sour. LOG, Metallica, Cryptopsy (Lord Worm RULES).
Beat me into submission... please Aug 14, 2009 I have had this album for about a month now, and when i first put the cd into my car stereo, i thought it was going to shake it to bits!!! After that first hearing, i thought that the album was just ok... f*#%ing brutal but just ok. i have read other reviews on the album and all have been mixed. but after about the 3rd listen, the album just clicked for me. Yeah, i know that ashes and sacrement are both seriously good albums but this is something different. like all bands, progression is needed, and i don't think LOG are any worse the wear for it. now, every time i listen to it i feel like i have just drank 10 20z double shot espresso's! i can't sit still!!! if you are trying to ween yourself from a coffee problem (like myself) this is a great substitute. this album is soooo damn good (hard to choose but track 7 and 11 are my personal favs) i can't praise it enough.
i never used to like LOG... oh how times have changed. when, not if you buy this album and you aren't sure... be patient you will be.
the best album i have bought for a while, shame i can't give it any more than 5 stars!!! :o)
it may be unprofessional sounding of me to say this, but... Jul 23, 2009 this album was amazing. with many of the songs dealing with the topics religion, corruption, and destruction, it can seem judgemental tword society. sometimes it is, but today there is so much to judge. and the intricate instrumentals on this album, impress, ifflare passions, and even provide a sense of peace after a long storm. the album opens with a biuld up of man made sound, and ends with a wind down of natural noise. paralelling humanity, and its likely eventual fall.
Fantastic Jul 10, 2009 my first exposure to LofG and it is truely fantastic.. Was surprised to say the least....
