My favorite album. A perfect selection of songs. Live adds energy to the performance. It's worth the money to have a good collection of John Mayer.

Of course most of the music on this album isn't new. While there are a few offerings on this album that you will be unable to find anywhere else the flavor of everything else is completely unique. From the word "go" you can tell this album is going to rock with a sweet jazz opening to Neon, John does an excellent job of sneaking awesome introductions and solos into his best songs. His cover of Hendrix's Wait Until Tomorrow is quite possibly the best cover of that song in existence. From start to finish the entire album is worth it. John didn't cobble together a piece of crap here this album has subtle and more refined renderings on already good music. It isn't just that he makes the guitar parts better every song has something new to offer the privileged listener, his vocal stylings on Gravity, Slow Dancing, and Stop this Train reflect a highly trained falsetto flashing the pipes, with a cool whistle solo even. This album is worth it's weight in gold. Buy it now.

But, alas, I have failed. I am a loyal fan of all the greats. Hendrix, Santana, Page, Vaughn, all giants. I have refused to believe that the torch can ever be passed. John Mayer is simply the heir apparent to the throne of those Guitar Gods. This album is a well colored canvas of artistic courage and supreme skill. John is a fearless composer/performer and everyone with any doubt about his soulful guitar supremacy should listen to this album from beginning to end and prepare to be blown away.

Excellent 70s Throwback Jul 07, 2009
If you're into artists like Eric Clapton or Steve Winwood, then you will enjoy this CD.
It has a 70s throwback sound with with some very good musical jams. John Mayer is an accomplishted guitar player that can hold his own with other well known musicians (see youtube CrossRoads video with Eric Clapton).
The CD is broken into 3-distinct sets of acoustic, trio and full band and has a nice flow. If you listen to the CD take a couple of hours out of your day and listen to it end to end to get the full concert effect.
The trio set has some good blues like the old standard "Everyday I have the Blues". There are also a number of songs on this CD that really come life as live performances like "Good Love".
