Poor Audio, But Still An Astley Fan Mar 10, 2009 I bought this album on vinyl when it first was released in 1987. LOVED it. I eventually wanted to get this album in digital format, so I purchased this CD. Boy, what a mistake. The whole selling point on CDs was to enjoy the clean crisp sound that digital format allowed, but with this particular CD, that is not the end result. Gone was the big voice that Rick Astley became known for and instead were these muted lyrics that you could sing along with but didn't have any faint resemblance to the great 80's sound that you know and love. This CD's audio was hollow and at times, sounded like it was coming from the next room over. There is nothing wrong with Rick Astley or his music, but this CD's format was poor, disappointing, and left me wondering if I had imagined it all. Not the case. I purchased a UK import "Together Forever: The Best of Rick Astley" from Amazon and while I had to wait a bit for its delivery, it was worth it! The vocal strength of Rick Astley came through crystal clear. You will probably play this CD maybe once and then you'll go looking for better sound quality elsewhere.

A Great Representation of the Musical Revolution in the 1980s. Jan 06, 2009 When we think of the 80s, we think of horrible musicians known to man. Bands like Van Halen failed at guitar revolution, genres like grindcore and thrash metal were underground favorites, and MTV was launched (playing bad music back then). And now we look back 20 years later and found the needle in the haystack.
Rick Astley has a great voice and his music is timeless. Unlike Van Halen, Slayer, Napalm Death, Sepultura, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, and early Metallica.
NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP!
Blast from my Past! Nov 02, 2008 I had this album on tape back in the late 80's and wore it out. I forgot about it until I started hearing Rick on contemporary radio. Then I was like, hey! I want it back! I got it at a great price and it definitely completes my 80's CD collection.
Back to the 80's!! May 22, 2008 I owned this when it first came out on cassette. I had forgotten just how good the entire cd is. The sound is a bit dated- it is the 80's. But Rick's voice and the quality of the writing still holds it's own. This is blue eyed soul at it's best. 10 quality tracks out of ten. Highly recommend.

l've been Rick-rolled!!! May 12, 2008 ''Never Gonna Give You Up'' sucked 2O years ago, and it sucks even more now. And what sucks even more is can't stop listening to it. lt's creeping up like a virus everywhere we go now-a-days. Rick planted this A-bomb 2O years ago and it's exploding now with catastrophical results now.
Never gonna give, never gonna give, give you up.
000000H!!! l'M DYlNG AGAlN!!!
