Mommys to be book Sep 11, 2009 This book arrived in excellent condition as promised. This book has been very helpful and is very handy in so many ways for expecting mothers and fathers to be. I highly reccomend this book as your pregnancy bible.
A Classic for new moms everywhere Aug 20, 2009 This book will never go out of date, and I didn't mind acquiring an older edition on Amazon when an acquaintance of mine broke the news to me that she was expecting. I love the way the chapters take a new mom through each month of her pregnancy, showing the progress of the developing fetus step by step, and letting her know what to expect. Even though this will be the third pregnancy for the woman for whom I got the book, I know she'll appreciate going through this term with a new curiosity and amazement for what is going on inside her body.
Disappointed Jul 22, 2009 I bought this book because I wanted as much information as possible for my first pregnancy. The layout made it difficult to quickly find information and the writing of the book is horrible. All the cutesy analogies and comments were annoying and unnecessary.
I was surprised to hear others comment that they found the book to have too much information that they found scary. Since I was looking for as much information as possible, I didn't mind that they covered every possibility since I knew that was what they were doing. I wanted to know about all the scenarios, good or bad, so I could be knowledgeable about my body's signals.
Like I mentioned before, the book is very poorly organized and very very poorly written. An example of the poorly organized aspect of the book is that they talk about the importance of exercise along with diagrams of suggested exercises that are good for you quite late into the book when an exercise regimen can and should be followed in the first trimester.
The most classic gift for an expecting mom. Jul 13, 2009 I have purchased this book for every person I know after they find out their pregnant. A great gift!
Book Jul 12, 2009 Great book and helpful for question that you might not want to ask or have between visits.
