Just WOW Aug 20, 2009 I listened to the song previews on amazon and I was instantly hooked! All of the tracks are amazing! They each have their own unique melodies and none ever sound repetitive. This is one of the few albums I can listen to track-by-track without skipping any songs. If I had to pick my favorites songs -even though all are great- they'd be:
"Allow Me To Introduce Myself...Mr. Right" -I just feel like I'm at some modern masquerade ball. :P
"Candle (Sick and Tired)" -I feel like this is their trademark song. It incorporates great rhythm and lyrics.
"Watching You" -Probably my favorite track.
"The Way Down" -Just love his voice on this one. It's one of their slower songs and it's just such a great ending track.
In conclusion, buy this album! I recommend it to anyone who wants to listen to refreshing, original and extremely catchy music.
Can't wait for more to come. :)
A superb mixture of music!!! Aug 09, 2009 We just got back from seeing these talented artists play at the Vans Warped Tour--they put on a fantastic show--on our over one hour ride home we listened to this album and were blown away! Excellently mixed, great song variety and tightly performed, the White Tie Affair offers great music for teens (child I took) to over 40 (me). Discover this hidden treasure, buy the CD or download these awesome ten tracks!!!
Great!!!! <3 Jul 27, 2009 This CD just rccks. The sogs are great and perfect to dance and just have a good time to. They are even better live, and seem like real cool guys, and put on a real cool show!!!
Fresh and Upbeat Jun 11, 2009 This album sure is a breath of fresh air. I was complaining to some friends awhile ago that there has been next to nothing in terms of good music in 2009. Now I know this came out in 2008, but I didn't hear of this album until 2009... so thank you White Tie Affair for ending this drought.
Instant Adrenalin! Jun 01, 2009 The White Tie Affair is not a really well-known band right now, but time and touring should change that. I love this CD. It is bright, upbeat music, sprinkled with electronica. Many of the tracks remind me of Justin Timberlake or Blake Lewis, but pushed more toward rock territory. Not hard rock, but tight, fast rock, like, say, Blink 182, Foo Fighters or Maroon 5. Their song "Candle (Sick & Tired)" is catchy enough to be a big radio hit. I don't think it is yet, but it should be. The video for "Candle" shows that the center of the band's energy is the very cool lead singer, Chris Wallace, and the CD proves it. His voice is the magnet in the band for me. It is high-pitched, which I like. (If you don't like that, you may not like the album.) He also co-wrote every song, with different partners. I expect TWTA to be successful. They will heighten your adrenalin with this CD, and they seem to have the talent to grow when it is time to do so.
