A bit weak Dec 01, 2006 This is a CD single of John Mayer's new radio hit. It's fairly catchy and Mayer turns in his usual good performance. I also like the pleasing solo with chimey glockenspiel; that's something a bit different. But after hearing this song many times I get fed up with its overly passive message. Taking up the mantle of generational spokesman, Mayer apparently puts off fighting for any positive changes in the world until he's 55 or so, by which time his generation will be old enough to hold political office. "It's not that we don't care, we just know that the fight ain't fair." That's pretty limp. The fight has never been fair, not to Martin Luther King, or Ghandi, or any antiwar movement, or many individuals in the history of the world. He might as well have said "it's not that we don't care, we just can't get off our duffs." It's kind of contradictory to turn in a passionate singing performance about biding one's time too; hardly an inspiring anthem. How does he think the world is going to change?

a good soul/pop song from an even better album. Oct 27, 2006 The guy who gave this one-star is something of a pain. He's made because he didn't read the CLEAR product description---a CD single that is also an import. Is it overpriced? Well, sure. But it's an import for collectors only. Is the SONG worth one star?? No way! This is a good pop/soul song in the vein of Curtis Mayfield. The ALBUM, continuum, is 5 stars and shows everything that John Mayer is capable of...a great blues, soul, pop album.

Too much for too little Oct 25, 2006 Obviously I did not read the description very careully - I thought at for $12 I was getting a WHOLE album, not just one song, I love John Mayer, but even I would not pay that much for one single. The whole album costs less than $10!!!! Be careful what you order. This CD should cost a couple of dollars at the most.
