4Unforgiven-In Your House  Jun 05, 2009
This was the first ever unforgiven event. The ppv was good, but the quality of the tape i got played rough at times. Thanks for reading and please rate!

6-Man War
Faarooq, Ken Shamrock, Steve Blackman vs. Nation Of Domination
This actually wasn't all that bad. The match had some nice wrestling and good moves by the rookie steve blackman. The only problem I had with this match was that shamrock wasn't involved much. Good opener. Match Rating:3.5/5

WWE European Championship
Triple H vs. Owen Hart
This match was good, but didn't live up to thier wrestlemania 14 match a month earlier. The ending was kind of cheap because x-pac helped hhh get the win. Match Rating:3.5/5

NWA World Tag Team Championships
The New Midnight Express vs. Rock and Roll Express
This was just average. The match could have been a little better, but it is watchable. Match Rating:3/5

WWE Tag Team Championships
The New Age Outlaws vs. L.O.D. 2000
This was a very good tag team match. Lots of nice moves in this one. The match gets a lot more exciting towards the end, but the reverse decision brought a cheap ending which kind of ruined the bout for me, otherwise the match was good. Match Rating:3.75/5

First Ever Inferno Match
The Undertaker vs. Kane
This was the first ever inferno match and still the best by far. Thier match at wrestlemania 14 was better, but this was a nice match. Look out for the great moment where vader comes in and attacks kane and undertaker jumps over the top rope and dives on both men. Undertaker sets kane on fire to win. Match Rating:4.5/5

WWE Championship
Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Dude Love
This is a lost classic in my point of view. This match was overshadowed by thier encounter the next month at over the edge. This was a very solid matchup and a couple of nice brawls on the outside. The d.q. ending on stone cold didn't really ruin the match for me because i thought it was funny when he hit mr. mcmahon with a chair. A very solid main event. Match Rating:5/5

This was a good unforgiven. It had a average mid-card, but i recommend it for the inferno and wwe title matches. Pick this one up!

34 stars for the event, 1 star for DVD production quality  Jul 15, 2007
To start off, the DVD production quality of this potentially amazing DVD release is very poor. Mirroring the comments of other reviewers, I add my own assessment and confirm theirs---this DVD, released in 2002!!! as part of the "Attitude" collection, has no special features, no chapters, not even a main menu. The only "chapter" is mid-way point in the DVD which features the end-point of the New Age Outlaws vs L.O.D. 2000 match, the rest you have to fast forward or rewind to as if they just ripped the VHS onto DVD and released it.

The matches, meanwhile, were a shining example of WWF at its greatest point in time.

Faarooq, Ken Shamrock, and Steve Blackman vs The Nation of Domination
This was a somewhat dull one, without much excitement attached to it from the crowd or the wrestlers. It was something of a "just there" match just to further the story of Faarooq getting vengeance on The Rock and The Nation who betrayed him. Steve Blackman was pretty much the only member of his team in the ring most of the time. (4/10)

WWF European Championship
Triple H (C) vs Owen Hart
This match was something of a good one, without being a spectacle of wrestling or charisma. The special stipulation of this had Chyna hanging in a small cage over the ring to prevent her interference, which she promptly broke out of and escaped after the Road Dogg lowered the cage via the controls in the back. (7/10)

NWA World Tag Team Championship
The Midnight Express (with Jim Cornette) (C) vs The Rock & Roll Express
I sort of shudder and look upon the two WWF stars, Bart Gunn and "Hardcore" Bob Holly, seeing them with the ridiculous names of "Bodacious Bart" and "Bombastic Bob", and then I see these Rock & Roll Express people I've never heard of, and then I was surprised by a very good match, with even some entertainment as Jim Cornette got involved and challenged the referee to a fist fight! (8/10)

Evening Gown Match
Sable vs Luna
One of those... you know... (1/10)

WWF Tag Team Championship
The New Age Outlaws (C) vs L.O.D. 2000
The Road Dogg is great with riling up the crowd, and the New Age Outlaws are a greatly charismatic group. This match, while not the greatest, was a good one, with a very... confusing ending, which didn't really make sense until several minutes after with an explanation regarding camera angles and viewing and such. (6/10)

Inferno Match
The Undertaker vs Kane (with Paul Bearer)
This sort of match is what the Attitude era is all about. While the wrestling wasn't at its best, the action was nonstop, and the charisma and energy these two gave off was incredible. The ring was surrounded by metal exhausts which kept the firing going, and with ever big bump taken or at random intervals, the gas was turned up and the flames jumped as high as a man! The match got taken to the outside and to an amazing finish. (9/10)

WWF Championship
Stone Cold Steve Austin (C) vs Dude Love
This match is a classic. That's pretty much as much as can be said. There wasn't too much wrestling or technical usage, but the energy and the action of these two was astounding, and this match is simply a classic because of it. (10/10)

If it weren't for the shoddy DVD production quality, this would be a great release and I'd've encouraged further releases (before the WWE change)

4wwe fan kane and undertaker  Jun 17, 2006
the first few matches were good but on the back it said nothing about midnight express and rock n roll express fighting but still good

5The Inferno match was the best match of 1998!  May 25, 2006
I have this tape and I love it.The Undertaker and Kane inferno match was stuff of an classics. It was the best match in my opinion of 1998.Another match I liked was HHH vs Owen Hart for the European title and due to an pre match stipulation Chyna had to be suspended above an steel cage.Great match, great spots.(I dont understand wrestling anymore they use to make it all look real, but now in the WWE hayday you can tell it is all just fake for crying out loud).Anyway HHH wins after XPac(Sean Waltman)interferes just after redubuting in the WWF a month before after a 2 year hiatus from the Company from being with the W.C.W.And the other matches were good indeed even the Austin/Dude Love match.I thought it would be another screw job like 6 months before at the 1997 Survivor Series but the ending will have you surprised.Like I said before and I'll say it again I love this tape.My friend wants it but I keep telling him he wont get it even for an million dollars.
