Vegan food lover Nov 21, 2009 I purchased this book for my daughter because she was always borrowing mine. It has so many great recipes.

AMAZING food for vegans, omnis, and everyone in between Nov 18, 2009 I don't care if you're vegan or not- YOU NEED THIS BOOK and you need it now. This food is absolutely DELICIOUS, and I personally enjoy the lighthearted style of the writing as well. Every recipe that I have made out of the Veganomicon has turned out phenomenally well. I serve these recipes at home (we're vegan) and also bring them to social events, such as fellowship hour at church, where they are beloved by vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike. BUY IT.

Great Book Nov 16, 2009 I have tried quite a few recipes from this book and every one is delicious. Even my non-vegan family likes them.

May not be for beginners Nov 15, 2009 I am hopeful when it comes to eating vegetarian. While this book has a great introduction, and many recipes, I did not find it easy. First, the portions are huge! They are really meant to feed a family of four for the whole week. The only thing memorable I recall making was the Lentil soup. While the book boasts itself as having delicious recipes that even meat lovers could enjoy, my meat eating family was not convinced of the taste.
If you are interested in eating more vegitarian/vegan meals, and you are new to the process, I would suggest you start somewhere else. I had better luck with a simple recipe I found online titled,"How to cook tofu like the Pros: Dry-fry and marinate method".

A revelation! Nov 09, 2009 I already own Vegan with a Vengeance and Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World (both great books as well), so I was afraid that this book would be redundant. A vegan teacher at my daughter's school recommended it, so I bought the book and I am so glad that I did! I bought the book 2 days ago, and so far have made the Lentil Soup with Tarragon (I used fresh Mexican Mint Marigold, fresh thyme, canned tomatoes, and added roasted red peppers), it was amazing! Not something I usually say about lentil soup. I also made the Tahini sauce with dates and orange juice. I put it over kale and a baked yam, it was also super delicious. I don't usually write reviews, and I am not vegan, but this book has inspired me to give up meat.
