4Jamie Foxx Unpredictable  Jan 04, 2010
Good album, i enjoyed all the songs, even the sad song wish u were here. I can relate to that song, with the passing of two grandmas way before this album came out! At first when i listened to this song, and a while after, it always made me tear up!

5I Didn't Think Jamie Had It In Him! (Rating: 9 out of 10- -4.5 stars)  Dec 13, 2009
I slept on this album for a very long time, until about a year ago when one of my friends played "DJ Play A Love Song" at work and it blew me away. At that point, I decided to give him a chance, seeing that I was still unfamiliar with his music. Despite me ever doubting him, this album is excellent with many great slow songs, with some upbeat songs. Vocally, Jamie is on point throughout the entire album, as one wouldn't have thought he spent the last decade or so as an actor and comedian.

Sure enough every angle has been covered about this wonderful album. Almost all the songs stood out. My favorites are the aforementioned "DJ Play A Love Song", as well as "Three Letter Word", "Love Changes" with Mary J Blige, and "Storm". The title track with Ludacris is also excellent. I also liked the last two tracks (where he switches his subject matter), "Heaven", and "Wish U Were Here". The latter track, Jamie puts his emotions into the song as it is dedicated to his grandmother, whereas the former is for his daughter.

The only knock I have to make is the rap verses. They really don't ad nor take away from the album (especially Kanye's verse on "Extravaganza"). The only rap verse I really liked on the entire album was Twista's on "DJ Play A Love Song".

But the overall product is excellent. The album vibes perfectly with great slow ballads and a few club songs. This one is highly recommended for any fan of R&B, if you haven't picked this one up already. Peace.

3Far from unpredictable...  Dec 02, 2009
With a handful of nicely placed R&B/Hip-Hop jams amidst a sea of redundancy, `Unpredictable' is far from its namesake. In fact, this album is BEYOND predictable. Predictably, Jamie has one thing on his mind, and it is inside you pants. Predictably, Jamie thinks that he is `the man' in just about every sense. Predictably, Jamie has laced this album with 90's style R&B slow jams that showcase his falsetto but prove to, predictably, sound very much like the song that preceded and the one that will follow.

Predictably, `Unpredictable' is very predictable.

All that said, I kind of like this album. I mean, when Jamie gets his cards in order he produces a nice hit, even if it is nothing special. There isn't anything on this album you can't get on many other albums (and even better at that) but songs like `DJ Play A Love Song' and `Love Changes' are just great songs that beg to be heard.

And then you have horrible usage of seductive tactics on the tacky `Three Letter Word'.

For me, this album is all about `DJ Play A Love Song', `Love Changes', `Can I Take U Home' and `Do What It Do'. Those are the standouts, even if they don't stand out like one would wish for. From there it gets dicey. Songs like `With You', `U Still Got It' and `Extravaganza' are fine, but they only come alive when guest rappers take center stage. Kenye West (another egotistical maniac) is the best thing about this entire album, but even on `Extravaganza' (a song I like) the density of Foxx's subject matter dumbs down anything he's doing.

Like I said, he has ONE thing on his mind, and he abuses that thought on nearly every track.

Songs like `Heaven' and the beautiful `Wish U Were Here' take Jamie out of that scandalous mind frame and give him a chance to branch out. I personally love the words, the idea, the whole vibe of `Heaven', but I don't really like the way that Jamie sings it. I think he has a great voice, but his falsetto seems strained and off putting on this otherwise beautiful ode to fatherhood.

The rest of the album is merely mediocre to me. `Unpredictable' is a decent Hip-Hop jam, but it's absolutely nothing to write home about, and tracks like `Get This Money' and `VIP' and especially `Storm' are utterly forgettable. `Warm Bed' is decent, but that's all.

He has a lot of potential. He can act, he can sing, he can perform, but he has yet to really push himself. When he does that, lets his guard down and just GOES FOR IT, that's when he'll become a star. Sure, he's technically a star now, but he has yet to shine his brightest.

1Not one good song  Jun 14, 2009
This was a total waste of money. Every song seems designed to seduce a black woman. They're all slow and boring, with cheesy sexual lyrics. Unless you're a black woman who has fantasies about Jamie Foxx, none of the songs will appeal to you. I've never heard any of these songs on the radio, and now I know why. I can't imagine what kind of audience he was targeting besides drunk women. Jamie Foxx is so talented and has a great voice. Can't believe he wasted an entire album on this nonsense. Very disappointed that I wasted my money. I'm throwing the cd in the garbage because there isn't one decent song.

This CD is a classic.Every song on this album is a banger. My favorite songs are VIP, GET THIS MONEY, THE THREE LETTER WORD. Intuition is nice but Unpredictable is a classic.
