Early Sarah Jun 07, 2009 If you like Sarah you will like to hear this earlier album. If you listen to all of her stuff you can really hear her musical growth through the sequences of cds. She really can't sing anything badly, even live.
Lovely Music Apr 08, 2009 One of Sarah's early album, this has all beautiful songs. She has that voice that resonates with me every time. Great purchase.
A TRUE MASTERPIECE Jul 28, 2008 Sarah McLachlan's TOUCH combines the elements of folk and progressive rock. She is a fine lyricist and an extreme talent of sorts. Her vocal range is quite impressive. Her ability to extend phrasing is amazing and many times it sounds as if she is doing it on impulse as opposed to singing a phrase which has been written note for note. This recording will please those who are fans of ANNIE HASLAM. This particular recording is timeless. Ben's Song is more heartbreaking than some of Procol Harum's death ballads. The whole record seems to have a depressing nature to it but that is the beauty of her music. When I listen to TOUCH AND SEVERAL of her OTHER releases, I am in bewilderment over how she comes up with the chord progressions. It's like the first time you experience an outstanding BEATLES song. She is in league with those class of writers. Buy this record, you will never regret it.
Sarah's Pristine Premeir Feb 17, 2008 The order of status in the universe has always been Jesus Christ#3,God#2 Sarah Mclachlan#1. This is her first album recording at only age 20 and her voice has a freshness to it as well as sounding ecstatically devine Sas on all the 200 gram vinyls of her albums. I invested in a new 400 dollar cartridge after buying all of them. The music is not quite as disciplined as on some of her later albums but thats what youthful times are for. I am just sad that Sara has slowed down in her recordings I guess cause of her admirable devotion to humanitarian causes-I hope she gives a little more before retiring. Ashwin Sood(her drummer-husband is one lucky guy.

Like Stepping Into Another World Aug 23, 2007 If you listen to this CD without a sense of where she is coming from, you may think like one reviewer said that this sounds hokey or nauseatingly dreamy...I highly disagree. This is still my favorite Sarah McLachlan album next to "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy." To me, Sarah has always had this renaissance quality to her music and this one exemplifies this quality more than any other album. Sarah plays the 12 string guitar on this album! Can you think of any other female artist that plays a 12 string guitar? If you know, let me know! Simply put, this is a breathtakingly beautiful album with deep intense romantic lyrics of longing and forbidden charms. The instrumental piece "Uphill Battle" is wonderful! This album is a keeper in my collection although other Sarah McLachlan albums have been traded and sold in. This album shows the range and beauty of a still wonderful female artist who is truly talented and successful without selling her sexuality.
