Mature lyrical topics from pre-pubescent rappers Nov 23, 2008 A lot of people laugh at them now; at the way they wore their clothes backwards and rapped about missing the school bus ("I Missed the Bus"). But people forget about the lyrical strength of "Jump" and its anti-war message, though subtle, comes to me clearly now as a more mature listener. Then, there's the gay pride song "You Can't Stop the Bum Rush," often shortend to just "Bum Rush" by fans. Let's not forget how paranoid people were about AIDS back in the early ninties. This song was a bold, bold, bold step towards acceptance.
I wonder where they are now?
If You Lived in The Kris Kross Era..BUY IT!!! Nov 16, 2008 A Lot of people have commented that the only good song is "JUMP"..they are soo wrong!!!! My older sister and I grew up to Kris Kross..She wore her clothes backward, shaved her eyebrows and wore the boy clothes (which was in style for that period of time). The people that made these harsh comments were prolly old, conservative, losers. I was so young when this Kris Kross fad came out and remember most of the songs on this album..Its a classic!!!! 'Jump' is of course my fav and the 'Jump' extended is pure genius!!!! 'Warm is up' is amazing!!! Its a Shame is great along with 'I Missed the Bus (Oww!)'..and 'I had a bad dream' (i vaguely remember this song but i like it...'Party' is whack no need for an extended version there...But I paid 99 cents for it!!!! Its well worth it!!!!
Old school Aug 07, 2008 I got this knowing I would like at least three songs. And that is about it. I still only like three songs. Jump (and it's extended mix), Warm it up, and I missed the bus. The rest are too old school for me I guess! Still better than paying retail!

Good first effort May 21, 2006 I remembered buying the cassette at a mall in Augusta, Ga. and hearing it several hours later in Atlanta in summer 1992. This was after Jump finished its long 8-week run at No. 1 and when Warm it Up was starting off. This was a solid first album for them as they had a unique rap style. Sometimes Daddy Mac was better that Mack Daddy on the rapping. The music was very catchy, especially Jump, but I liked the funky Warm It Up and its rollicking sound and bass. It's one of Jermaine Dupri's best produced songs and ranks right up there with his current songs for other artists. Dupri gives such dynamic music for Kris Kross for this effort. One other song that stands out is the danceable Party at the album's very end. I would have done away with the silly I Missed the Bus. And Dupri even samples an Ice Cube song with Cube's "Drop an old school beat!" line. You just can't miss that moment when you hear it on the album! The album's very Atlanta driven and really represented the hip-hop sounds from there several years before Lil' Jon and Outkast took over. I thought the backward jeans style was a bit much, as a lot of young people were wearing their clothes like that for a year until it got played out. Kris Kross' voices changed on later albums, but it made them better. This is a good first effort that sold very huge in its prime. It's another unique album that came out in the 90s.
