A Teenage Singer Who Actually Has a Voice Aug 14, 2009 As crazy as it may seem, a major record label has somehow let a young lady who can actually sing slip out onto the airwaves. In lieu of yet another autotune addict with a limited range and a set list of cookie cutter club songs and radio pop, Columbia has instead seen fit to bless us with an artist who's actually worthy of the term: Tiffany Evans.
To call this girl a prodigy would not be hyperbole or an exaggeration.
My idea of an artist "with a voice" would be someone like Sam Cooke, Maxwell, Whitney Houston, Darlene Love, Roy Orbison, or Usher. Needless to say, I'm not overly impressed with too many of today's young artists, and I'm sometimes left wondering who's gonna carry the torch once Ciara, Ne-Yo, Beyonce, and company begin to to age and the young folks begin to describe them with that infamous phrase, "Yeah, my Mom likes him (or her!)"
I've found my answer. Young Tifanny Evans is the total package. The girl has an amazing soprano voice and sings with a polish and confidence well beyond her years. She's obviously worked hard to hone her instrument, but it's just as obvious that she was blessed with a natural talent. Some of what she's doing on this disc cannot be taught. Again, the term "prodigy" fits her like a glove. The girl is so far beyond most of her contemporaries (the Sean Kingstons, Lady Gagas, T-Pains, and Miley Cyruses of the world) as to be from a higher evolutionary order.
Of course, this is an album aimed at teenagers, and the content reflects the concerns of that audience, but it is very well done, and I'd be willing to wager that this young lady will be in it for the long hall, and we'll get to see her mature as an artist in the same way we once watched Little Stevie Wonder grow into his unfathomable genius.
Get in on the ground floor and start buying this kid's stuff while it's new, so that two decades from now when she's being hailed as a legend and career retrospectives are being released (and most of her "peers" have faded into oblivion or are famous only for their bizarre public antics) you can say, "I liked her way back when!"
haven't listened to her full album Mar 18, 2009 Love her! She's really good, and she's basically the r and b version of lil mama. I loved promise ring, it had great vocals and great beats. Which is something that you rarely hear now a days. I also thought the second single I'm grown was really cool as well. This is a must have for any fan of current pop music!

Great CD! Sep 12, 2008 I have been following Tiffany ever since she won Star Search as a young girl. This girl is pure talent. Because of her young age, the CD which is age-appropriate, does not truly reflect just how powerful her vocals are. I have been waiting for her career to take off for years, so when I saw this CD at Walmart, I happily scooped it up. It is a great effort with good variety. My favorite track of all time is "Favorite Broken Heart". That is one heck of a song! I LOVE it! My other favorites are "Promise Ring", "I'm Grown", "Again", "Lay Back and Chill" and "Can't Walk Away". The rest of the CD is very well done. Definitely check it out!
