Great Compilation of Music From Silky Smooth Crooner Como Jun 17, 2009 "The Very Best of Perry Como" provides a great platform to showcase the talents of the Pennsylvania barber who became one of the most popular vocalists of the 40's and 50's.
While at times a object of satire, most notably on Second City TV at the hands of Eugene Levy, Perry Como was a talented, warm-voiced singer whose voice was the equivalent of a beloved sofa - comfortable and soft, sturdy with support, but relaxing and carefree at the same time.
Songs like "I'm Gonna Love That Gal Like's She's Never Been Loved Before," "Till The End of Time," "Some Enchanted Evening," "It's Impossible," and others remind us that Como had a wealth of talent.
Eras come and go. Tastes change. But true talent survives the test of time. Perry Como is definitely a survivor.
The Very Best of Perry Como Jan 12, 2009 This is much better and has more recent recordings than the set of 3 cd's titled "till the end of time" by IMC Music, year 2000.
Perry Como review Dec 20, 2008 The DVD is excellent and brought back a lot of memories. It was delivered on time and in good condition.
title for review Oct 24, 2008 This is an excellent cd. I have always enjoyed Perry Como. Heck I'm old enough to remember him being on tv. This record requires a good Honduran Cigar of at least .45 ring size and at least 6 in. in length. It really doesn't matter if you are drinking wine or Bourbon, as I have tried both. The results are basically the same.
Four Recently bought CD's. Sep 16, 2008 All four of the CD's were bought as gifts for someone else, and mailed to her some 500 miles away. She loves them for the most part, particularly the Perry Como one. She doesn't know the songs to the Josh Groban one but likes it anyway. She loves the Anne Murrey one, and is still making up her mind about the Sarah Brightman CD.
