Wonderful film and soundtrack for children Feb 01, 2009 I loved this animated film. It has no dialogue so the child has to use their imagination. The music is great, Bravo!

Walking in the Air Jan 25, 2009 The movie from which this soundtrack comes The Raymond Briggs' The Snowman is one of the most beautiful and pure children's films I have ever seen.
But there is something about hearing the music on its own that is, in some ways, even more wonderful. I chose to buy this soundtrack, rather than the DVD, because even though the animation of the film is beautiful, I want my children to use their imaginations to visualize the story. I am glad that this CD has both the narration of the story, and the musical score on its own.
Final Word: This is some of the most beautiful, moving music I have ever heard. It is worth every cent, even if you have to import it. You will be a different person after hearing this than you were before.
My Favorite Christmas story/audio/video Nov 25, 2008 I have been trying to find the audio to this very beautiful and heartstirring Christmas story for years. In the eighties I was lucky enough to find a Raymond Briggs stuffed toy snowman that played the theme that the young boy sings.
The story opens a child's imagination; the music is hauntingly beautiful and the video/dvd never disappoints. Many years ago I was able to tape the David Bowie version; it is wonderful.
This is intelligent and lovely enough to enchant children of all ages.

More than a "book on tape" Nov 03, 2008 I'm afraid the other reviewer listened to about 5 minutes of the CD before he wrote his review. If he'd listened to the entire album, he'd have found that the CD is what he wanted, and he might not have left such a negative review. Seeing as how the book this film is based on has no words, I find it amusing that he calls it a "book on tape". The first three tracks do include narration of the story mixed with the music from the films, but the fourth, fifth, and sixth tracks are the musical score without the narration.
All things considered, this is a fantastic CD. The music is incredible, and manages to stir up all sorts of Christmas magic without even a hint of a Christmas Carole. If you've seen the film, than this CD is a must. If you haven't seen the film, watch it, than buy this (you'll want it).

Not what I thought Aug 01, 2008 I don't know if it was because I didn't read what this was but I was not expecting the CD to be a book on tape. I was hoping for this to be a score of the animated show I loved so much. I was very disappointed when I put the CD in my car. I'll have to find the one song on it and copy it then I will probably sell the CD to someone else.
