Quality Pop Album Oct 01, 2008 I grew up on The Partridge Family. This, their first album, was released in 1970. I was a mere 9 years old. I love all The Partridge Family albums but this one is certainly the best. Granted, everyone in the group did not actually sing but we were graced with original vocals by David Cassidy and Shirley Jones. This collection is pure bubble-gum pop but it also proves to be a perfectly made pop album.
There are some very good songs here and the selection is very eclectic with even some hints of a slight r@b sound. The set opens with BRAND NEW ME a very expressive pop rocker. We have hits POINT ME IN THE DIRECTION OF ALBUQUERQUE and the infamous I THINK I LOVE YOU. Funny, but I THINK I LOVE YOU is not one of the very best of The Partridge Family songs. Standouts here are I CAN FEEL YOUR HEARTBEAT, BANDALA which has good duet vocals by David and Shirley, SOMEBODY WANTS TO LOVE YOU and the upbeat, excellent SINGING MY SONG.
The first three albums by The Partridge Family all contained some quality music but this is the best. it is an excellent set and the music truly stands the test of time. It shows how bubble gum pop can be truly infectious and of high quality. The remastering here sounds great. Purchase and enjoy.
Pleasant Jul 13, 2008 There is actually some good music here. What really impressed me was the sound quality. This CD sounds very good! Considering the low price, This is actually quite a bargain!

Their best, a great example of awesome bubblegum music... Apr 21, 2008 This is my favorite Partridge Family album, and actually one of my favorite albums EVER. I love the bubblegum genre (or baroque pop as I like to say), and this is one of the best examples of it. Every song on it is a well crafted gem. It's not terribly long (clocking in just under 32 minutes), but there is no filler on it at all. It has some of the greatest songs The Partridge Family ever laid down. Point Me in the Direction of Alberqueque is quite powerful, and Bandala is extremely catchy. Bandala is one of my all time favorite Partridge songs. Only a Moment Ago is a beautiful, tender, heartfelt ballad, and I Can Feel Your Heartbeat has a wicked guitar riff. A really wicked one, honestly. I'm On the Road, a song without David singing lead, is fantastic. Surprisingly, the producers of the show didn't know Cassidy could actually sing, and he wasn't supposed to be the lead singer of the group. Luckily, they decided to let him. I Think I Love You is a great pop single, and the closer, Singing My Song, is a wonderful sing a long song. You reall can't help but sing along.
I never really cared for the TV show, but I adore the music. This is probably the best album the Partridge Family did, and it's incredibly inexpensive. There's no reason not to pick it up.

Excellent Blast From The Past May 21, 2007 I never had problems identifying myself as an Archies fan, but the Partridge Family is a group I like better than I think I do. This album proved that point.
Favorites on this project included "Brand New Me", "Point Me In The Direction Of Albequerque", "I Can Feel Your Heartbeat", "Somebody Wants To Love You" (my favorite), and the hit "I Think I Love You."

Great album and beautiful mastering from Razor & Tie Mar 13, 2007 If you are a fan of those great early Partridge Family albums, then you owe it to yourself to get these, the 1993 Razor & Tie versions and not the recent re-masters of 2000 and 2003. Why? Razor & Tie did not tamper with the sound quality, as a result, Razor & Tie CD's sound like the records you remember. I made the mistake of buying the re-masters thinking they would sound even greater; NOT!
