Gabe's love of life shines through Nov 21, 2009
I first heard of this band when Gabe and Jano were doing the opening act for the Loggins and Messina reunion tour. I was impressed at how Gabe's songs reached out and touched the people in the audience, young and old alike. After meeting Gabe and spending time with him, I could see that he is a gentle spirit with such a love for music and for life, and that love definately shines through in his songs.

Gabe Dixon Band is my new favorite CD. I initially bought it for the track, Find My Way, but after listening to the entire disk, I have to keep playing it over and over again. It's just that good to me. The rhythms are upbeat; the tunes are catchy, and I just love it. I can't say anything else...It was definitely worth the buy and made me go out in search of other Gabe Dixon Band music.

Like many others have noted here, I first heard of Gabe Dixon when he opened for Loggins & Messina. I ran to buy his CD between sets. I haven't stopped listening to it (daily!), and have recommended it to everyone I know.
I am amazed at this young musicians' gift, and look forward to following him for many years to come.
Best new music I've heard in a while Oct 28, 2009
I saw Gabe Dixon open for Loggins & Messina about a month ago. I bought the CD because I really enjoyed his live set. He appeals to a wide audience. My favorite is "Five More Hours", but the whole disc is likeable. He reminds me of early Billy Joel.

I rarely write reviews but in this case I simply have to because I cannot recommend this CD highly enough. Like others here, I discovered The Gabe Dixon Band when Gabe and Jano Rix opened for Loggins and Messina here about a month ago. As extraordinary as the L&M performance was that night, one of the standout highlights was Gabe and Jano performing together. I bought this CD before I left and I've been listening to it nearly constantly ever since. Every song is a gem, ranging in mood from heartbreaking through reflective to bouncy and upbeat. There is gorgeous, versatile songwriting here, masterful playing, commanding vocals. And all ingeniously arranged - so simple yet so rich. I find myself replaying all of these songs in my head, every one is that good and that memorable. There's something here for everyone - in fact, my 12-year old son went to the concert with me and these guys were his favorite part of the concert. Buy this CD for yourself and then buy copies for all your friends.
