Different but still awesome Sep 12, 2009 Tom Morello is one born to write music, the strong 60's rebel spirit is very alive in this man's notes. The way he writes and sings gives us crushed spirits hope of a better tomorrow. The acoustics are nice but the electronic guitar is missed much on this solo work. Other than that its a pretty good album, lyrics with meaning give hope. Thank you Tom for helping me deal with the man!

Lyrics verse music Apr 29, 2009 Well, I respect Mr. Morello as a poet, however this album leaves much to be desired in the realm of music performance. Although the lyrics are good, the music is slow and sadly pretty weak. I listened to both albums, and the only song that i think is worth buying is the "Road I must travel." IT has great lyrics with emotionally charged music...
Descent Apr 15, 2009 Music is solid, but I thought that the vocals were a little weak. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it.

Lacking Apr 09, 2009 I love RATM and I like some folk music but this really doesn't resemble either of the above. Sure, I appreciate the politics, just like with RATM (and a lot of folk music) but the music just isn't there. The songs range from lame to average and I just think that Tom Morello is not a very good singer. Ususally, folk music has one or the other (i.e., good music or good singing), but this has neither.
Very disappoineted.
Not recommended.

A Great and Angry Album Jan 09, 2009 I discovered Tom Morello's Nightwatchman persona when I downloaded a duet between him and Bruce Springsteen performing "The Ghost of Tom Joad". On the basis of that, I picked up this album. It was well worth the purchase. This guy knows how to channel his anger over the social injustice in this world into incredible music. Check it out!
