5Some of the Coop's best lyrics.  May 14, 2009
Alice Cooper has always been a great lyricist, but he really outdoes himself on here. Music-wise the album is just as great and thankfully sees the departure of the industrial influence of "Dragontown" that preceded it. There's not a bad song on the album, IMO, and the album is worth the purchase for just "This House Is Haunted" and "The Song That Didn't Rhyme" alone. Those of you from Michigan will also appreciate "Detroit City" as well.

5a diamond in the rough  Apr 28, 2009
i am a big fan of cooper, and this is definitaly one of my favorites.it has his best humor of all his albums (listen to what do you want from me, man of the year, the song that didnt rhyme, bye nye baby), high adredlin songs as tough as brutal planet (try im so angry, spirits rebellious, backyard brawl), not so great sentemental crap (be with you awhile), creepy stuff (this house is haunted) wich was not that good though, and great songs i cant classify likebetween high school an old school, novocaine, detroit, & love should never feel like this.

i feel this is one of his best and it is deffinitly highly over looked. it has something for every one kinda and the only song that isnt great is this house is haunted but even that is ok, i recommend any cooper fan to get this one, what ever you like about cooper you will see some of it on this album

4Alice Cooper - 'The Eyes Of Alice Cooper' (Eagle Rock)  Apr 06, 2009
Review no. 116. In my opinion, 'Eyes Of' is probably Alice's best CD in the last couple of years since he's been releasing a new album about every other year, again. 'Dirty Diamonds' comes in at a close second. Like pretty much every tune here, especially the kick-*ss rocker "Between High School And Old School", "Man Of The Year" (awesome riffs), "Novocaine", thi disc's two ballads "Be With You Awhile" and "This House Is Haunted" as well as "Detroit City" (guests MC 5 guitarist Wayne Kramer - how cool is that?) and "I'm So Angry". Can't believe this CD didn't receive more airplay or sell better than it did. Definitely has the vintage Alice Cooper vibe.

5Best "Coop" since 1975!  Sep 25, 2007
This is the best album the Coop had put out since 1975's Welcome To My Nightmare.

"Man Of The Year", "Between High School & Old School" and "Novocaine" all should have been a big hits in a perfect world. After enjoying this one, I had high hopes for it's follow-up Dirty Diamonds, but that one fell way short of this infectious album.
