ALHAMDULILLAH Nov 18, 2009 Mos Def is Mos Definitely the kind of artist that is so unpredictable like Allah's child should be, one cannot tell what he's coming out with. this album is nothing but excellent God willing - most artists lack consistency he's got it like Allah's child should - he's music is full of life the message and all - check out the songs PRIORITY, THE EMBASSY, TWILITE SPEEDBALL, AUDITORIUM and don't forget ROSES w/ Georgia Anne Muldrow.
this is a definite must buy album for all Mos Def fans and those who are hungry for Message in real music inshallah.
Long live real music.
Masterwork Nov 11, 2009 Wow! "The Ecstatic" is invigorating. Here's a bold statement--This is one of the best I have ever heard! Sleep on this release at your own peril.
dope Nov 08, 2009 you should also check out the album FRESH START by Choz1n if you love mos def then this album is for you
Mos Def is back!! Oct 19, 2009 Even though I enjoyed his last 2 efforts, I was still believing he could drop something better. Well "Ecstatic" proved I was right. This is the Mos Def that I learned to apreciate, I like the fact that he chose quality over quantity and the result is almost impecable...Strong contender in the album of the year category!!

Great minus the religion theme Oct 06, 2009 i love this album, amazing beats, and mos def's lyrics are deep and socially conscious, take time to listen to what this kat is spittin and it will open your eyes. I would have given this album 5 stars, but i had one problem with it. I am not a religious dude, so the religious references kind of irritated me, nothing against religion, its just not for me, and i make it a point not to listen to religious zealots. Minus that aspect of the album, i think this album is deep and thought provoking, but in a subtle and covert way, i just brush aside the religious references and relate to what he says in my own way. as an artists of course mos def can share whatever he wants, and i as a consumer i dont need to listen, but i respect mos and when you think about the other rap albums out there, there isnt much to choose from to begin with.
