 Best study Bible Nov 22, 2009
Our church began using the ESV for some studies and we were very happy and blessed whrn they came out with the study edition. It5 is as much insites into the meanings as the actual text.

My encounter with this Bible came after reconnecting with a friend (a seminary student) on Facebook who I hadn't seen in over 15 years. I was delighted to see that he has his own church now in Ohio with webcasts of his sermons. During one of his sermons he pointed out that he preached from the ESV which I was unfamiliar with. Back in the day we both used the NIV. So, since I wanted to follow his sermons each week I bought the ESV Study Bible. The positive reviews here are accurate. It is a great study Bible! I love the MacArthur Study Bible because he is so thorough and his conclusions on difficult verses are hard to argue with. But, I believe the ESV is just as thorough if not more so as, as some here have already mentioned, it gives a more generous helping of alternate viewpoints than the MacArthur Bible. Frankly, I would hate to have to give up either Bible. I like this Bible so much that I am ordering 2 more for some friends. I think it should be in every Christian's library!
ESV TruTone study bible Nov 06, 2009
The ESV study bible is a great resource. It provides very good notes and commentary along with good introductory material for each book.
The TruTone exterior is GREAT! Much better than the bonded versions.
As others have mentioned, this is a large bible which may be an issue for some.

The ESV Study Bible is a well made quality sewn bound Bible in both hardcover and leather editions.
The book introductions, notes, and articles are excellent as are the illustrations and maps. The notes come from a mildly calvinist perspective and are thoroughly written. The ESV is one of the best translations out there for accuracy and readability. This Bible is well constructed and the paper quality is top notch!
The Articles and Resources in the back of this Bible cover everything from Doctrinal Overview, Ethics, Bible Interpretation, to World Religions and Cults. There's not much more that could be added to a Bible. If I had any constructive criticism it would be that perhaps there are too many helps making this a large, heavy Bible to carry to church although people are doing it.
I rate this Bible as 4 stars because, although excellent, like other ESV Bibles it has a poor concordance as compared to most study Bibles on the market. Having said that, you won't go wrong with this Bible which truly illuminates the Word of God!

Well done for4 Kindle Oct 18, 2009
I was hesitant to like the Kindle version at first. However after using it for a few hours, I am delighted with it.
I have not read all the comments etc., but I have been satisfied with what I have read.
No translation is perfect, NONE. This appears to be a good translation and I am very glad it is available on the Kindle.
