Description:

Between 1993 and 2000, a series of groundbreaking experiments revealed dramatic evidence of a web of energy that connects everything in our lives and our world—the Divine Matrix. From the healing of our bodies, to the success of our careers, relationships, and the peace between nations, this new evidence demonstrates that we each hold the power to speak directly to the force that links all of creation. What would it mean to discover that the power to create joy, to heal suffering, and bring peace to nations lives inside of you? How differently would you live if you knew how to use this power each day of your life? Join Gregg Braden on this extraordinary journey bridging science, spirituality and miracles through the language of The Divine Matrix.

5Fascinating Reading  Oct 11, 2009
I have very much enjoyed reading Mr Braden's book. This is the first book of his that I have read, and find it absolutely fascinating. He takes the law of attraction to an atomic level. I don't know much about quantum physics, but this book explains in very simplistic forms how it works.

Nicely written, engrossing, and I would recommend this as a definite read for others.

4Very remarkable read  Aug 17, 2009
I've read so many of these 'types' of books, and there have been so many I liked. They all promote such deep thinking...and some have been right over my head. Still, I wanted more and I got more with The Divine Matrix!

I wish so much I could remember the thoughts and beliefs here, but I must admit I get busy with my days and completely forget that I set out to put good out in my world ... (You have to read the book to get this...)

A great book makes you think, and you might even have to read through it twice (if not more) but you begin to see what is being said and it makes sense. This book meant a lot to me and I will read it again. It's necessary and needed...if we could all just think this way....wow!

4Consciousness as the Operating System  Aug 14, 2009
Gregg Braden is an unusual individual; a geologist, he became a computer systems designer and technical operations manager before delving into the world of spirituality. His books reflect the breadth of his experience while bringing a fresh set of ideas to the concepts of science, spirituality and the relationship between the two. In The Divine Matrix, Braden combines ideas from the quantum world, from information technology, from conventional science and from philosophy and religion; instead of the jumble one might expect, he produces some very innovative and coherent ideas that reconcile the different realms to some extent.

By the term Divine Matrix, Braden is conveying an idea that he attributes in large part to Max Planck: "We must assume behind this force [that we see as matter] the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind ... This Mind is the matrix of all matter." Braden combines this with one from the Indian Rig Veda, which may be as much as 7,000 years old: "there's a description of a force that underlies creation from which all things are formed - the force that was there from the "beginning." This power, named Brahman, is identified as the unborn ... in whom all existing things abide." Braden draws a comparison between the Divine Matrix and the old idea of "ether" as a medium; I also found similarities between these concepts and David Bohm's "implicate order", Irvin Laszlo's "akashic field", Bernard Haisch's "zero point field" and the tao and karma of eastern spiritualism.

One quote that captures a very strong theme of this book is found on page 141: Both ancient tradition and modern science suggest that what we see as the visible relationships of "life" are nothing more and nothing less than the reflection of things that are happening in another realm, a place that we can't perceive from our vantage point in the universe. ... Just because we can't observe these events doesn't mean they aren't real. Ancient traditions suggest, in fact, that the unseen world is more real than the visible one ... we simply can't glimpse this "deeper reality" from where we are in space-time."

As unconventional and adventurous as some of Braden's ideas seem, his style is so inclusive and integrating that he never gives the sense of dogmatism. There's something in this book for scientists, adherents of conventional religions such as Christianity and Judaism and even open-minded atheists. I took the title of my review from one of the concluding chapters: "If we think of the universe as a massive consciousness computer, then consciousness itself is the operating system, and reality is the output. Just as a computer's operating system is fixed and changes must come from the programs that speak to it, in order to change our world, we must alter the programs that make sense to reality: feelings, emotions, prayers, and beliefs."

5Staggering Implications  Jul 28, 2009
I recently completed reading The Divine Matrix by Gregg Braden and found it very insightful and thought provoking. This book describes in a clear and compelling manner the fundamental structure of the universe and how it operates. The astounding implication regarding the nature of the universe and that it actually responds to us is almost unanimously accepted as fact within the scientific community. This review includes clips from the book interspersed with my own notes, observations and scriptures.

Science has discovered that matter at the subatomic level doesn't actually physically exist. The atom along with the electron are just energy fields and are not physical in nature. Furthermore, if we could see the universe in its entirety from a higher vantage point, the objects in our world appear as just a projection from another realm. This other realm is the original and is a deeper level and is more real than the physical.

The projection of the universe we observe is constantly changing and responding to our consciousness. Experiments in Quantum Physics show that just focusing our awareness on something for even an instance changes its properties while we are watching it. The act of observation is an act of creation. Although this is difficult to grasp, human beings actually participate in ongoing creation. In the unseen realm, our beliefs and emotions create the blueprint for our relationships, our successes and our failures, that is projected into the seen or physical realm. In a sense science has caught up with what the Bible has said from the beginning. The implications of being in a pliable world of our own making are vast and powerful. The way we see our role in the universe is altered as we realize that we can intentionally change our outcomes. This may sound incredible but is actually verified scientific fact. However, more importantly, it lines up completely with the laws of prayer and faith that are revealed in the scriptures.

II Corinthians 4:17,18 says that our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen: for the things that are seen are temporal; but the things that are not seen are eternal. We are told not to look at the seen (physical) things that are temporary and transitory but to "look" at the unseen things that are eternal and not subject to change. Paul is not talking about using our eyes to see. How can you look at something that is unseen, unless you are using some other faculty such as your mind or your imagination? As we intently observe those things in the spiritual realm that have yet to manifest in the physical realm an eternal substance is formed within us.

Modern science has discovered that our bodies undergo chemical changes as we experience love, compassion, forgiveness, hate, judgment and jealousy that this force extends beyond our bodies into the quantum world! We know from the scriptures that failing to walk in love effects the outcome of our prayers. Galations is very specific in telling us that faith works by love. Discoveries has shown that we are connected to everything in the universe and are not limited by space or time and that we can use that connection consciously as long as we see ourselves as part of the universe rather than separate from it. We are able to manifest through fervent faith in the physical realm what we imagine in the spiritual realm. After all, the energy field that connects all things also makes up all things. Experiments show that our consciousness has a direct effect on the most basic particles of creation and that we might live in a world actually created by consciousness and one that responds to us.

The key to moving our desire from the nonphysical imagination to the physical realm is to feel we already have them. The key is to put our focus on the completed act. As we observe and focus our attention on our desired outcome we are locking in that specific possibility into place. The principles of faith as laid out in the New Testament tell us that in order to receive what it is we are praying for we need to believe that we have already received it (Mark11:24).

Physics has determined that there is a nonphysical energy field (hence the divine matrix) that connects everything and everyone in the universe. In a sense it is the "stuff" that carries our prayers beyond our bodies and holds the world together. The Bible tells us that with wisdom God created the universe. The implication is that wisdom was the actual substance or building blocks that God used to create everything. I believe that this force is God Himself and that it manifests itself through love and faith. This force permeates everything in the universe and responds to love and faith. We activate this force as we walk in love. This begins to make sense as we realize that the scriptures tell us that faith is the substance of things hoped for.

The implication of these scientifically proven discoveries is staggering and not insignificant. This is not some new age belief but is scriptural truth lining up and harmonizing completely with the reality of the function and nature of our universe as it was designed by God. As we join ourselves with God's purposes, walking in love and in faith, we become co-creators of our own lives. Romans 5:17 says that "those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign (as kings) in life through the one man, Jesus Christ."

3Not Quite What I Expected  Jul 25, 2009
I ordered this book after seeing the author on a TV show called 'Nostradamus On 2012'. I'm not a big Nostradamus fan but Gregg sounded interesting.

This book starts out pretty good where he talks about some of the more exotic ideas that are popular today in the world of physics.

He talks about how the universe is like a hologram and the human body, where each strand of DNA contains our complete DNA profile, is also like a hologram.

However I came to the conclusion that the author doesn't have the correct background to be able to discuss the many complex and subtle issues that arise in the areas of psychology, philosophy, and religion.

He quotes often from the so called 'lost gospel of Thomas' which I guess was found with the Dead Sea scrolls. He states that this so called gospel is really the 'original text' for what the New Testament should have been.

However all of the criticisms that people direct towards the bible can also be directed towards all of these other scraps of documents that they dug up in the desert.

Jesus Christ didn't preach to scholars and physicists. It was Christ's ability to explain great truths in ways that simple people can understand that makes him the greatest philosopher of all time.

If Christ really spoke like what it says in the false gospel of Thomas Christianity wouldn't exist today.

Part 3 of this book contains a lot of auto biographical information where Gregg tries to show how his theories play out in real life.

He lost me big time with his theory about the "Five Mirrors Of Relationships'. It sounds like these ideas also came out of the Nag Hamadi documents.
