Brendan James' 1st album On Top Feb 13, 2009 What a pleasure listening to Brendan James' brand new album !
We discovered Brendan James on first part of CB Raye's concert in NYC in december 2006.
Coming from France, i have to say it was a complete discovery for us, and above all, a revelation !
We were really impatient to listen to him once again. And it's been really no disapointment.
For those who love crooners, i can only recommand you to buy Brendan James' 1st album.

Very Nice. One of the best CD's of 2008. Feb 01, 2009 I have about 2300 albums and this one is at the top. I am not a pro critic. but I know what I like. Brendan music is thought provoking and right now in my life, it fits me. There are artists who perform with the music and just bang, bang, bang and the song is over. Brendan's voice like an instrument and the words are well thought and they flow extremely well with the piano and band. The more I listen to it the more I like it. If you like good, with a somewhat depressive darker edge melodically blended with smooth Piano, I recommend this album. I would compare to a modern day Joshua Kadison, but better. It is mellow music with extremely good vocals. This CD will last.
This is purely an awesome talent right here!!!!! Dec 24, 2008 I saw Brendan for the first time when he opened for Allison Moyette and I could not get over how amazing he was! I bought this CD at the show and love it!
Definitely worth a listen or two. Dec 18, 2008 I wasn't sure what to expect with this album, but expected to like it seeing that Brendan James was influenced by the likes of Carly Simon, James Taylor, and Carole King. I can definitely hear pieces of each of those in this music, and it's wonderfully delightful. I really love his voice and Green is definitely my favorite track after a few listens. I can't wait to add this to my rotation.
OK, but... Nov 20, 2008 Melodic, poetic, and reminiscent of much that has come before. It just doesn't do it for me. Hero's Song, for example, is an interesting anti-war song but somewhat lacking. Not bad music, not bad singing, but still, not something that I would listen to frequently
