2He made this one The Day After Kamikaze  Jun 10, 2007
If I told you I could have seen this album coming I would be telling you a lie. Adrenaline Rush was a classic,Mobstability was almost perfect and Kamikaze was a flawed but good album. So what happened here? Twista obviously rushed this album after the success of Kamikaze. The Good: Check That Hoe reminds you of the hungry Twista of the Adrenaline Rush days as he rips it over an eerie but dope beat. Twista teams up with Pharrell on Lavish and I know it sounds hard for a lot of you to believe but Pharrell's verse was sick! Lil Kim FLOORED Twista on Do Wrong where they both talk about cheating over the old Al Green sample Love And Happiness. When I Get You Home featuring Jamie Foxx is an alright song for the ladies and Heartbeat is not bad also. The Bad: The Day After is horrible song to kick off the album with and as much as I like Syleena Johnson, she does not complement that song at all! Get It How You Live will cure you of insomnia as Twista raps normal over a decent beat by Scott Storch and So Lonely(featuring Mariah Carey) is a lukewarm song for the ladies. The Ugly: Chocolate Fe's and Redbones is an awful song for the ladies over a terrible beat but as bad as it is its not worser than Girl Tonite featuring Trey Songz. Why does the song blow? The horrific lyrics by Twista, the frightening and confusing chorus by Trey Songz and who in their right minds samples Ready For The World? As a matter of fact Jarule's Mesmerized, Jadakiss' U Make Me Wanna and Sheek's One Name are all distant memories in comparison to Girl Tonite. Holding Down The Game sucks and so does the depressing Had To Call(featuring Fiend and Snoop). Out Here is hot garbage and Juvenile made it worser than it had to be with the worst verse of his rap career. Im A Winner, which poorly uses R Kelly's One Me as a sample is tied up with Girl Tonite as the worst song for the ladies and Hit The Floor which features Pitbull will clear any dance floor with the quickness(yes its that garbage). Bottom Line: The Day After is Twista's worst album period! too many songs for the ladies, weak street anthems and he makes more references to backshots than Dmx said s*** my d*** on Grand Champ. If You didnt by this album based off Girl Tonite, you did the right thing. Pat yourself on the back because you dodged one hell of a bullet!
