Great book Nov 21, 2009 Very good series and Joel Rosenberg is a must read author if you like Tom Clancy type stories. Up to date political events makes for interesting reading and the action is non-stop.
spiritual fiction Jul 15, 2009 Excellent book. It is one of a four book series. Unfortunately, the publisher did not number them, so when I started reading the series I read them out of order. It discusses the end times and the upcoming war in the middleast, that will bring about World War 3. It may be fiction, but it is very close to reality and what could happen in the near future. I definitely would recommend all of Joel Rosenberg's books.

Another step toward the end of the age Jun 03, 2009 This is the fourth book by Mr. Rosenthal in an ongoing series that dramatizes Biblical end-time prophecies in a present-day setting. Sometimes it seems his greatest challenge must be keeping his writing ahead of actual headlines! This book begins after the divine destruction of military forces aligned to destroy Israel, as a new Babylonian empire begins to arise and elements in Israel begin to execute on a plan to rebuild the temple. The heroes of the previous books, now married, lead a harrowing search for the long-hidden treasures of the former temple and the storied Ark of the Covenant. This book is clearly a link to one or more additional books. Let's hope the final volume is published while the Earth is still with us!
I truly appreciate Mr. Rosenberg's scholarship and imagination in bringing to life the apocalyptic events that may lie in our immediate future. His books are more than entertainment; they are provocative warnings that undoubtedly help many readers tune into the signs of the times. For example, a reader of "The Copper Scroll" may be motivated to look into current plans and arrangements that are underway to rebuild a temple in Jerusalem and then ponder the implications of that possibility.
There is a frustration in reading a book that is one link in a series, like a Saturday serial. There is only partial closure at the end, so the reader feels roped into purchasing the next book, then the next. It would be more satisfying if one book would tell the entire story!
Another concern is that Rosenberg's books seem to be primarily adventure stories that happen to have a backdrop of end-time events. While central elements in the plot are based on Biblical and archeological reality, most of the plot involves diabolical bad guys chasing super-amazing good guys, gunplay, killings, narrow escapes, wealthy eccentrics, corrupt leaders, and the usual components of today's "formula" thrillers. While this kind of action sells, it also overpowers and detracts from the underlying important and timely messages. It begins to feel like pop music with Christian lyrics or James Bond with a Bible.
With the secularization of culture, novels written from a Judeo-Christian worldview are becoming more remarkable and more valuable. I encourage Mr. Rosenberg to labor on in this genre and appreciate his wonderful contributions. Also recommend "ARROWS THROUGH TIME: A Time Travel Tale of Adventure, Courage, and Faith".
The Best Book Ever Written! May 29, 2009 The Copper Scroll is the best book ever written, without a doubt. There is action from cover to cover. The plot twists and turns and holds readers in suspense. You cannot put this book down. From the first sentence to the last, this book is skillfully written. Rosenberg keeps you excited about picking up this book and reading. Jon Bennett, Erin McCoy, and Natasha Barak and everyone else are realistic characters that go through real-life scenarios. The Copper Scroll is also very inspiring about personal relationships with Jesus. I would change nothing in this book if I was allowed to rewrite it. Rosenberg definitely outdid himself on this one. Without a doubt I give this book six out of five stars. You have got to read The Copper Scroll!
A Great Springboard for Your Further Research. . . May 13, 2009 I started Joel's series because I'd read Epicenter. This entire series rocks with focus, twists and turns, and incredible insight ~ both real from study, and imaginative "what if" scenarios. No matter what your belief system is ~ consider keeping up with Joel.
