See these guys live! Apr 10, 2009 I first saw this band live at a festival show in Minneapolis in 2008 (note they're a LA band and play mostly on the West Coast), which then prompted me to buy this album. The album actually plays a little flatter than they did live, which is a little disappointing, but not totally unexpected. Had they captured the same energy in the studio that they project while on stage, this album would be a slam dunk. It's still a fun listen, with some great vocals, it's just not an album I play when trying to get pumped up (like in the gym, or before heading out on the town). I'm pretty sure it's their first full-length album, so I expect bigger things from them on album #2.
Great Power Pop Rock Jan 18, 2009 I heard the song "Pieces of The Sun" on CMJ, and I couldn't get it out of my head, so I played it non-stop for a week! Then I realized I had to have the LP. Found it at Reckless Records in Chicago and fell in love with it after one listen! It has continued to grow on me and is just a great piece of pop/rock mastery. This is the stuff they should be playing on the radio, but unfortunately they continue to play garbage. Looking forward to their next release, as this is a great listen. Definitely has a Brit Pop feel to it, but is just all around good rock.

Alternative 80's throwback with some edge May 21, 2007 What a great album. Every track seems to conjure up memories of great songs from the past but with a present-day edge. Combine The Cure from the 80's and the modern-day band The Killers and you have a lot of what these songs sound like.
This one will be on my playlist for the forseeable future.

Absolutely Incredible! Apr 25, 2007 It's hard to believe that this is TYR's first release. This is as polished and professional as it gets. TYR is a throwback to the bands of yesteryear, whose talents as musicians, songwriters and performers outweighed the effects of studio mixing and enhancements. The Burning Hour is a CD for all audiences, buy it, listen to it, love it!
