3Disappointing, But I Don't Regret Buying It  Aug 12, 2010
First off, the reason The Beekeeper gets three stars instead of two is that there are a few songs (not a lot though) that are great. There are a few hits mixed in with a lot of misses.
Parasol - 3/5. Not a bad start to the album. It's a simple little song, but it's good.
Sweet the Sting - 3/5. It's a catchy song and you can listen to it every once in a while, but it's not great.
The Power of Orange Knickers - 4.5/5. I really like this song. Tori and Damien Rice make great duet partners, and the song itself is interesting. The lyrics aren't her best.
Jamaica Inn - 4/5. It's an interesting concept and a nice song.
Barons of Suburbia - 2.5/5. The ending is what saves the song. That's basically it.
Sleeps With Butterflies - 2/5. Cute song or sad song, depending on how you interpret it. Either way, it's one of the weakest of her weak songs on this album.
General Joy - 2/5. The music is good, but not that good. The lyrics aren't that good either.
Mother Revolution - 2/5. About the same as General Joy.
Ribbons Undone - 2.5/5. It's a very sweet song, but it's still bland.
Cars and Guitars - 3/5. Better than the last three. Still not great, but her voice is great here.
Witness - 5/5. This is a great song. It just is.
Original Sinsuality - 2/5. Love the message. The music and actual lyrics just aren't great.
Ireland - 0/5. No stars. None. I don't even want to talk about this song.
The Beekeeper - 5/5. Maybe the best on the album.
Martha's Foolish Ginger - 0/5. Not very good.
Hoochie Woman - 1/5. I like her voice here.
Goodbye Pisces - 4/5. One of the better tracks.
Marys of the Sea - 5/5. Great song.
Toast - 5/5. Great song.

1Absolute GARBAGE  Nov 21, 2009
As a Tori fan, I must say this is the worst album she's ever done. Many of the songs seem to try too hard to fit into the image that she built with the previous albums, sometimes channeling "Little Earthquakes" and "Under the Pink". For those new to Tori's music, it's best to skip this album and begin with her older, more solid material.

4poor Beekeeper  Oct 14, 2009
Poor Beekeeper, everyone didn't like you! you have some mediocre/ lousy tracks, but there are some that are really, really nice. Martha's Foolish Ginger is my favourite. I was also sad that the song Garlands was banished to b-side land because it should have been on the album.

2 1/2

The once ultra-passionate performer continues to refine an adult contemporary approach to the detriment of her compositional talents; if not for the final quarter of the lengthy indulgence the album could have completely busted.

3The Only 3-Star Tori Album  Jun 09, 2009
I have owned this album since it was released several years ago and have decided that it is the most disappointing album Tori has presented in all her career thus far. It is not a bad record per say, but is a dull one, which is why I am giving it 3 stars. The songs meld together into easy-listening fodder, which is fine if you want to fall asleep or just play something in the background while doing crossword puzzles or something.

There are a few songs on here that I actually cannot stand and skip over, such as "Cars and Guitars" and the saccharine "Ribbons Undone". The rest of these mid-tempo songs might be better handled if mixed in with others from Tori's catalog. The best tracks on here are "Parasol," "Hoochie Woman", "The Beekeeper," "Goodbye Pisces," and "Marys of the Sea".

The length is unnecessarily long, and I have made my own, new playlist on my iPod, eliminating several songs and making this album a bit more digestable, but still not something to listen to if looking to stay awake:

1. Parasol
2. The Power of Orange Knickers
3. Sweet the Sting
4. Sleeps With Butterflies
5. Barons of Suburbia
6. Ireland
7. General Joy
8. Witness
9. The Beekeeper
10.Hoochie Woman
11.Goodybye Pisces
12.Marys of the Sea

P.S. If you can find it, there is a Jon B remix of "Hoochie Woman" on the Internet which is quite enjoyable.
