superficial junk advice Jul 22, 2009 This book is worthless. An example of the advice it gives for single parents: "get a support system." That is such obvious advice, it could come from a 7 year old child. It only states those 4 words - nothing further - no suggestions as to what type of support, how to get it, what to avoid, how to use it - NOTHING. And this is typical of the entire book.
I'm a psychiatrist, and seek books to assist people I work with. This one was a complete waste of money. You'll find better info for free in the newspaper, magazines or on the internet.

Straight From the Heart Nov 07, 2007 Carolyn is so genuinely passionate about helping people to THRIVE. Her enthusiasm rings throughout this book. I wish my parents had read it when they split up. What a gift!

If ONLY I had had this book 20 years ago! Sep 17, 2007 I wish there had been a book like "The 7 Pitfalls" when I was a single parent! This is the book I needed and describes parenting as a divorced parent in real life terms and situations.
The excercises are helpful and the format of the book is easy to grasp and understand. This book will become a part of "Tiers of Healing" curriculum.
If you are a divorced parent this is a book that you must own.
