Good information, but nothing new Oct 30, 2009 This book is useful for people that don't know much about diabetes, but is mainly the "diet and exercise" program that most diabetics already know about. They do not address the topic of nutritional supplements and vitamins/minerals that are useful in controlling blood sugar levels. There is some useful information, guidelines and recipes, but a lot of this is common sense or common knowledge.
not what I expected Oct 17, 2009 This does not include any specific recipes only general information. I was expecting recipes...

Some Helpful Information Sep 21, 2009 This is a pretty good book in many ways. For me, the program is too hard with regard to eating strictly vegetarian. I need to have a little animal based protein here and there. That said, I found the excercises and the rest of the book to be quite helpful. This is a very worthwhile read for anyone who has Diabetes.
Diabetes Information, Recipes, and Exercise Aug 02, 2009 The best part of this book for me is its information about the Type 2 diabetes disease process, food, and exercise. (The recipes may be great for someone else, but we found that just following the main ideas worked fine.) This book gives a better understanding of how Type 2 diabetes develops, and how to fight it, than I have read or heard before.
A relative of mine has been on the edge of Type 2 diabetes, with fasting blood sugar readings just below 125, and once or twice just above 125. Following the ideas in this book, even though we never used any of the exact recipes, has helped her reverse the trend. Her last fasting blood sugar reading, after maybe two months of trying hard to follow the ideas in this book, was in the high 90s. We are going to keep working, especially on the exercise. (This book's exercise section includes information I had never read before.)

Very useful and practical, detailed information about diabetes and the journey to a miracle. If you're looking for something short and to the point - this is not the book for you.
