5I'm blown away here  Aug 27, 2009
This group really surprises me... and I'm one who hated this cd initially. I listened to it a few times and tossed it into my cd heap. Garbage! Well, I recently bought Phantom Limb and liked it very much so I decided to relive this one. Holy shet. This cd is AWESOME. The last track (21) is fuggin KILLER!!! I might like this one more than PL. This CD is flat out pulverizing. I cannot think of a harder band than this. Just can't! Great stuff.

5Bloody Awesome!  Jan 07, 2009
I can't listen to this album enough. Love it. One of the best hardcore/deathmetal/grindcore albums ever.

5Amazing  Feb 13, 2008
I've had this album for about 2 years now. Normally, I'm a thrash metal fan (Slayer, Pantera, et al). Looking for something more, I ventured into some grindcore, and found most of it bland and uninspiring.

Until I found Terrifyer.

This album is simply awesome. Okay, I usually skip track 1 and the DVD sits on the shelf... but the album blew out 2 speakers in my car and had me coming back for more.

To me, the searing vocals come across as yet another instrument. You can read along with the lyrics provided (and the lyrics flow like no other band I've heard), but you don't need to. Sit back and immerse yourself in a really, really well done grindcore album.

I can't wait to buy Prowler in the Yard.

4My first grindcore record.  Dec 07, 2007
'Terrifyer' was my first PxDx purchase. I have been listening to pretty extreme metal for some time now and I'll be honest, I didn't really like this band when I first bought this record. There was no bassist and I had a hard time understanding JR Hayes' lyrics without reading the lyric sheet that was included. But... after I sat down for an evening with headphones, some 420 and no one to bother me, I have quite a different opinion. Hayes lyrics are awesome. Scott Hull is probably the one of the greatest guitarists ever. Brian Harvey is not human. His drumming is faster than a drum machine on adderall. This is not to say that you need to be baked to enjoy this music. Long story short... if you're into extreme forms of metal, you'll probably like this record. There is some pretty trippy stuff in it, Hayes dubbing some what sounds like theatre dialogue with a woman speaking\laughing\screaming. I make it a point to listen to 'Prowler in the yard', 'Terrifyer', '38 counts of battery', and the new one 'Phantom Limb' everyday when I am at work. A better first record from Piggy D would probably be 'Prowler in the Yard', it's really good. After I paid attention to 'Terrifyer' I liked it a lot more than when I first bought it.

Another nail in the coffin of civilization. Pop the top on another one, folks, sit back, and enjoy the Apocalypse.
