Nix Hicks Lix @#$%s Jan 23, 2010 Oh well. There is so much gloss on this dross that it's no wonder kids turn to drugs. or alcohol, or rampant sex as a viable escape. Just to give a fair test as to whether Taylor's c.d. deserves to be in existence, we strapped an audience of one thousand people to their seats. Then we blindfolded them and made them listen to Taylor and then my group, kevin :bunky" and the :bunkyettes". Needless to say, the group screamed like they were attacked by Michael Meyers when Taylor played. My group got a standing ovation, and I don't even SING!
Who is Taylor? I don't know. Does anybody? But I think he's some clone drone from from season 6 (or was it 5 or 7?) from American Idol. You know, that Simon Cowell reality show that tries to make you think the whole process is important. Whereas, the only thing that's important to Cowell is how much money he can bilk out of the eye-glazed sheep that robotically call in by the millions to vote for a character like Taylor. And calling him a character is a stretch in my book.
If my memory serves me correctly, he competed against Daughtry and won despite the fact that Daughtry actually has talent and has trounced Taylor in sales. But, do you think this show actually has any real value and worth? Think again oh mannequins of the public trust. Taylor will throw you onto the quicksand and walk away laughing. But, take heart. Cowell may actually save you in order for you to buy Taylor's next c.d. It's a madhouse I tell you. A MADHOUSE!!!
I actually did give this a listen. Blood started pouring immediately from my eyes and nostrils. Not to mention that green ooze from my ears. These are the risks kevin :bunky" takes, selflessly trying to save you cash and time. Heed my warning while you can. kevin :bunky" takes dares, but he's NOT suicidal!
None of these songs are memorable, muchless worthy of playing a second time. If you appreciate poor imitations of Wham! sound-alikes, faux Stax horns clogging up the background. and unremarkable grooves that try to sound as innovative as a cat-box cleaning circa 1984, then this selection is for you. Who the hell produced this? Richard Marx? But buy at your peril. The harpies are just around the corner waiting for your misstep and to eat you alive.
In conclusion, just another money making scheme that went awry. Take my word, there is much more worth in watching an ant farm than ANYTHING Taylor does. Besides, at least ants have talent.
If you get this horrible thing, don't come knocking on kevin :bunky"s door for healing. You WON'T get it!

Taylor Hicks Aug 14, 2009 Taylor Hicks is the most soulful singer. He brings a sound of true R&B, Funk, just the great kind of sound that will last forever.

Can't sing May 10, 2009 Like I've said before, the dude can't sing. His a very entertaining entertainer when he's on stage, but when he's not on stage putting on a show, he just can't sing.

A Great CD less One Song Feb 22, 2009 This is a great CD. I had put off buying it because I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. I was not disappointed!! I enjoyed it even more after seeing Taylor Hicks in concert singing most of the songs on the CD.
The only thing that disappoints me about this CD is that "Do I Make You Proud" is a free download instead of being included. The free download doesn't help me when I am listening to the CD in my car which is where I do most of my listening.
I would recommend this CD to anybody who has followed Taylor since American Idol or is just beginning to follow him. It is authentic Taylor Hicks at his finest with his own style.

Good, not great Apr 10, 2008 I liked this album but didn't love it. I really enjoyed watching Taylor Hicks on American Idol, and I think I might enjoy watching him live than listening to a recording. Something is missing from this studio recording, the soulful voice and aura that I know Taylor Hicks has does not shine through on this recording.
Taylor is, however, one of my favorite idols, but I don't think that this album does him justice. There are a few good parts, but for the most part, it sounds rather karaoke-ish and there are many parts that just make me want to skip to the next track.
