A great Tango Album for the modern music world. Dec 22, 2009 A great Tango Album for the modern music world. This is a reprise of some of the best Tango songs ever made.
As someone who likes to listen to modern music, this album presents a collection of tracks I can load on my ipod without seeming out of place from the rest of my recent music collection. This is a great album, two thumbs up for Julio!
I always enjoy listening to a well produced album and this CD delivers that well. This album maintains a high production quality from start to finish. Each track brings me back to when I used to live in Argentina.

Tango Slaughter Nov 25, 2006 Tango is the music of people that live (barely) and dance, despite waking up to cry and falling asleep in tears. If you don't understand "la vida es una porqueria" don't even try to grok tango, it just won't work.
Into this hard, heart breaking music (think old scratchy recordings of Carlos Gardel) comes Julio Iglesias with a warm fuzzy rendition that is more at home in Disneyland than in a tango hall. You listen to "Caminito" and you want to cry, not because it's the last time you'll see it (lyrics) but rather, you are listening to the song and wondering if you got lost in an elevator. Senor Iglesias - anda, canta le a Gardel.

For Julio Iglesias fans; tangueros will be disappointed Jul 13, 2006 The music is pretty and nice. A fan who enyoys smooth vocal music will enjoy this.
In order for Iglesias' voice to be showcased, the instrumentals are generally quiet or absent. There is not much rhythm. You can't really dance tango to this.
That is okay, I guess, but I got the CD because I thought it would be an interesting new addition to the revival of Argentine Tango. If not for the arrangement of this music, Iglesias could have done that.

Julio en 'Tango' Aug 02, 2005 Julio doesn't have a great voice but he has that special tone that let you hear the music and the letter at the same time and enjoy them together. This CD have a very good selection of 'tangos argentinos' and even if you don't speak spanish you still can enjoy the music.
