Good source of Clash B-sides May 15, 2010 I remember well the original. EP version. I understand the reasons for reworking the lineup; it puts a lot of otherwise obscure tracks in one place. But the original had it's own purpose and groove. On the reworked disc especially great tracks are Time Is Tight (I prefer it to the original Booker T & The MGs version) and of course Bankrobber.
Super Black Market Clash: Cd. Apr 06, 2010 A collection of odds and ends, from various sources. There's some hits and some misses, a few songs were not all that great, but overall, it makes for some good listening, especially, the less heard tracks, of the clash.
Outstanding Clash! Dec 21, 2009 Some bands may not want outtakes or b-sides to see the light of day, but you're gonna love this side of the Clash. Plus there are instrumental pieces that make sense and groove without vocal support. This may be my favorite Clash collection of all! Get it and Enjoy it!
bottom of the barrel clash Mar 01, 2009 I love the clash as much as anybody. But this collection doesn't do them justice. B-sides, outtakes, retakes -- mostly b-quality. Get the rest and then consider getting this if you're a completist or just compulsive.
Not the real thing, but... May 14, 2008 This isn't you father's "Black Market Clash" but as long as you can pick up both, you might want to. All of the tracks that didn't make it onto this reissue (is it a reissue, or a whole new thing?)are easily available elsewhere but old timers (like me) kind of prefer not having our memories messed with. That said, this is still way cool and gathers up lots of odds and ends that you want if you're a fan. I used to have alot of these tracks on singles, but I don't pull out the singles that much anymore, so having them easily at hand is definitely worth it. Next to the first LP this is the one I seem to pull out and play most often. I have both versions, and I play both. Both deserve five stars in my view, but they are both completely different experiences. If you truly love the Clash, get'em both. You won't regret it.
