Description:

Import digipak edition with new booklet. Originally released in 1994, the classic Suicidal For Life contains the hit 'Love Vs. Loneliness', By the time of this album's release, mainman Mike Muir, alias Cyco Miko, was yearning for the freedom of the indie life once more, and determined that this would be their major-label swansong. And 'Suicidal For Life' turned out to be one **** of a farewell, not least because the song titles were deliberately peppered with profanities. But Suicidal Tendencies were nothing if not uncompromising. SPV Blue.

3Going out with a bang  Aug 28, 2009
That's all I can say about this album. It sounds like the group was tired of Columbia, and all their shenannigans, and they purposely made this album one where you can't even put the kids to bed to listen to....they'd have to go to Grandma's house. I almost gave this a one star as the "Inovaction" wasn't Suicidal Tendencies at all. However, they got down to business... if you call swearing a business, and thrashed the heck out of these songs. I don't think that the group cared whether the songs were any good, or not, and unfortunately, they weren't. However, the guitars are back, and the production is calibar to what Suicidal Tendencies should sound like. I hope that they are happy being back at an independent label.

5A Masterpiece, ignore the critics!  Oct 09, 2008
There is a lot of criticism towards this album, the general argument being that is overly-heavy and doesn't sound like Suicidal Tenedencies.

Yes, this album is considerably heavier than their early releases. Yes, Cyco Mike is really angry and drops the F word countless times. Yes, there is no funky bass.

Regardless of any of these facts, this album is a thrash-metal masterpiece. The energy of the album is undescribable, the sound is very heavy and fast but also fresh and never bland or repetetive. The boys just pound out song after song of clean cut, precise thrashy metal. You have your double bass drum action, your clean guitars and heavy hitting bass. By 1994, S.T had more than perfected the thrash sound and just took it up a notch.

Any real Suicidal Tendencies fan should love this album. The definitive energy and angst of Cyco Mike is visible here just as much as any other release, and music is anything but a negative change. Would it be better to have seen S.T soften their sound and image? C'mon! Forget the naysayers!

3disappointing   Jan 14, 2008
This cd plays like Mikes therapy session on a truch load of valumes.low energy, massive amounts of twisted thoughts and no real signs the ST of a few years before.I found this cd weak and lacking.Lackluster in musical proformance and lyrics are overpowering depessed thoughts and mumbleings.I think this was rushed and not well thought out.I don't like giving this bad review but I think it earned it.

5ST at its angry best  Nov 13, 2006
Do not accept anything Captain Blade said as truth. Because in point of fact, this album is among ST's best. The reason for all the swearing were not as Captain Blade outlined, but as an angry reaction to Sony which insisted ST make another commercial album like The Art of Rebellion (the fact Captain Blade dismisses this album as well tells you how ignorant of ST's ouevre he is). The lyrics are extremely good, just check out Evil: "my morals reach the junction where my conscience stops its function", Mike Clark's guitar is awesome as always and Rocky George leaves ST in heroic fashion with a nothing short of amazing guitar solo in the album's monumentual Love vs Loneliness, surely one of ST's best ever songs. I fully recommend this album.

5Listen to the audio samples IDIOTS??!!  Oct 21, 2006
This is easily a five star CD. From top to bottom, all the songs slam hard as hell. Mike Muir "lead killer" has done it again. You can easily tell this CD DESTROYS ALL MONSTERS just listen to the samples! Listen to the samples!! Listen to the samples!!! Mike Muir - "cyco miko" lead vocals, Rocky George - is again "waking the dead" on blazing lightning lead guitar, Robert Trujillo (OZZY, METALLICA) - the thrash-metal legend on bass. A totally, truly awesome band. Does it really matter who the second guitarist is or who the drummer is? Nope! Long as they can hang with those guys.
