Mainstream but not Nov 30, 2007 When introducing people to my 1980s avantgarde music collection, this is the first album I try. Once digested, Big Science. Laurie Anderson is the voice of authority. She is the electrical version of Ph balanced. I laugh -- I think -- I cry. Beautiful Red Dress speaks volumes.
not so strange Oct 02, 2007 Got Big Sience, another album by this artist. This one is just as intresting. not as cute. But will continue to keep it in the car for long trips.
Strangely Beautiful Apr 15, 2007 This CD is one of the few I have downloaded into my Ipod complete. The music has a dream like quality, but what I really like is Laurie Andersons use of language, for example the idea of purchasing " high heeled feet" at a body shop amuses me.

Strange is the operative word, but interesting also. Mar 13, 2007 She's really a performance artist, better when seen as well as heard. If the "music" strikes a chord don't miss a chance to see her if she comes to your town.
Strange Angels are Mowing My Lawn Oct 04, 2006 I ran across a cd single of "BEAUTIFUL RED DRESS," at a resale shop across from where I live. It looked interesting and the name Laurie Anderson was vague to me and then it hit me; I remembered having a compilation of "alternative" music with Laurie Anderson's "'O' SUPERMAN" on it. So I bought it and immediately fell in love with the song. I replayed it several times;I just couldn't get enough. A few days later I bought the whole cd and from that moment on I was hooked. All of the tracks are catchy,well-crafted pop songs. My favorite tracks include The Day the Devil,Hansel and Gretel, the title track-Strange Angels, and I forget the titles of the other songs but they're all pop freindly tunes. After awhile, you even find yourself singing along with Laurie Anderson. This was a departure from her normally avantegarde work but still very accessibe and pleasant sounding.
