Stay Hungry Nov 12, 2009 Twisted Sister- "Stay Hungry" 25th Anniversary Edition
Some things just won't go away and Dee Snider and Twisted Sister are two of them...with their shock tactics a la Alice Cooper, makeup by Clown College, USA and MTV imagery and heavy rotation Twisted Sister will go down in history, however with their recent 25th anniversary edition, it appears they won't stay down. Surprisingly, it may not be such a bad thing. Who knew Long Island would be famous for a drink and infamous for a band.
If you're looking for lyrical depth, musical prowess or life changing tunes..Twisted Sister isn't your bag, but then to their credit they never claimed to be. Perhaps there's a bit too much time capsule aspect in their "Stay Hungry" revisit but surprisingly, rock anthems like "Stay Hungry" and "I Wanna Rock" can still evoke a head bang or two despite the best attempts to prevent such approval.
You will stay hungry because Twisted Sister does not meet the recommended daily adult requirements for rock and metal but isn't that kind of the point?

twisted sisters moment in the sun Sep 15, 2009 this album originally came out at the height of the hair band era in 1984.and as far as im concerned,it stands the test of time quite well.featuring such anthems as "we're not gonna take it" and 'i wanna rock"this album truly stands out in an era that was flooded with many now classic metal albums.disc 2 of this 25th anniversary re-release is comprised of tracks that didnt make it onto the original release, some unfinished demos, and one brand new track called "30" (the first new TS track in over a decade)judging from this track, the band hasnt lost anything that they gained 25 years ago.wheether you're revisiting this album or listening for the first time, its definitely worth checking out.

Waste of money, unecessary hassle... Aug 30, 2009 This is far and away the most problematic CD I've ever bought and will be the last Rhino release I ever touch. The first disc sounds worse than the original Atlantic release it is supposed to be a remaster of and the second disc won't play after the third track as it has flecks of something black inside the playing surface. So I just wasted my money completely. There is supposed to be a process to go through to get a replacement disc, but I have yet to get any reply from Rhino Records on what I'm supposed to send to where to get the first disc replaced, and I guess I'll have to try to return the whole thing to try to get a second disc that works. So beware, its not just the first disc that may be defective. I should have just stuck with "Still Hungry" and the orginal release of "Stay Hungry" with some equalizer tweaks. Even if I get working copies of both discs I don't feel its worth this much hassle having to do quality control for a company too cheap to do it themselves.

Hey Jay Jay...apology accepted ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Aug 08, 2009 Ok, I have had audio problems with cd 1 so I sent the email to Rhino and ... problem solved. I have gotten the replacement cd with a TS pin and an apologies note from Jay Jay. I have to say that the remastering job was great. I put the original 1984 Stay Hungry and cut one song suddenly, and change to 25th anniversary edition without change the volume level and I could see the difference.... 25th anniversary sounds deeper and stronger. Well, in essence, is the same Stay Hungry, of course, but it sounds much better. Now cd2. What can I say. If I wasn't a TS fan (to death), I could be very angry. Why?, because these are uncomplete songs..... and early releases. Are they fooling me?, why they just use the 1983 releases instead use these "prototypes" and finish the songs?, as Dee did with Call my name?..... well, as I said, as a TS fan, I'm actually glad to have these songs. Be carefull, is just for truly fans. The new song?, I would have preferred something less "rock'n roll" and more heavy metal. You know, is a good new song, also it has its video, good one, but for TS, and Dee special attitude, I prefer songs like "Never Say Never", more heavy metal. But is just me. I prefer "heroes are hard to find" than "30" (I know Heroes... isn't heavy metal, but.......), finally.......... How about a new TS album????????????????

Received my replacement cd from Rhino ( with a Pin) Aug 03, 2009 well...
I waited until have the real disc 1 of this set for this comment.
Rhino has great customer service, and they worry about his customers... my new cd arrived 15 days after I sent my purchase information.
About the cd set, well... this is how Stay Hungry has to sound, heavy, angry... really loud and clear.
And the second disc is an invaluable jewel for any TS fan...
Thanks Rhino for your assistance ( everyone make mistakes), thanks to the band for this incredible record.
Five stars with no doubt about it...
(My english is not the best, sorry if I had mistakes)
