 Excitement and slight fever Jul 04, 2006
It is wonderful. And cool !!!! I wanted to see their pop promo and bought it. The outlook on the world that they expressed was very wonderful, and it excited me. As for "Stars(Acoustic Version)" collected to this CD, I can feel them in a straight body. And, they might be an indispensable one piece for us.

Before Switchfoot's 'Nothing is Sound' was released towards the end of last year, I listened to the song 'Stars' on an internet audio stream about one hundred times. It's just an amazing song that is willing to talk about what's wrong with the world without shying away from taking responsibility. But all that heavy subject matter is balanced perfectly with a catchy guitar riff and just the right amount of hope. As a huge fan of Switchfoot and all their work, I absolutely had to have this single, and I haven't regretted it once. The acoustic version of 'Stars' is absolutely amazing and heartfelt, and only available here as far as I can tell. The video and its unique underwater twist perfectly captures the enegry and sentiment of the song. The 'acoustic' version of Dare You to Move, one of their hits from breakthrough album 'The Beautiful Letdown', is perhaps the only weak point; rather than an acoustic, the track is merely another rerecording of the classic, but it pales in comparison to the album version.
Some may think 9 dollars plus is a bit steep for this single, but it was worth it if just for the acoustic and video versions of the title track. I give this my highest recommendation to any fan of Switchfoot's music - or message.
