Incredible Talent Jan 03, 2007 Anyone who hasn't had the chance to see Jake Simpson in person is really missing out! His 3-octave range plus keyboard talent really put him head and shoulders above other singers.
Was fortunate to see him on Jim Brickman's holiday tour this past fall and winter .... he performed classic holiday music plus some of Jim's hits along with vocalist Anne Cochran and violinist David Klinkenberg. Meeting him afterwards was fun ... he's a down-to-earth Midwesterner who accepts we-deserved praise humbly, has a delightful smile for everyone and genuinely loves to entertain.
This incredible talented musician is a treat to the ears and I look forward to another CD one of these days!!

Amazing Male Vocalist Sep 16, 2006 It's good to read that he is well and still performing. Someone with talent such as him should be releasing albums by the truckloads. I only just stumbled across Jake on TV recently when Oprah reruns was on hahaha.. with him singing 'Isn't She Lovely' with Stevie Wonder as the special guest. I was glued to the TV hearing him perform, so had to buy the CD. Looking forward to getting his new albums in the near future.
Anyhow, more about the tracks my favourites were the remakes of 'Isn't She Lovely' and 'Sign Sealed Delivered I'm Yours' which really showed off his vocals together with lively music. Other tracks I kinda had a country feel which generally isn't my preferences but it was nice nevertheless since its Jake singing and the songs are good.
My only small qualm about the album: Strangely I thought track two 'Have a little faith', although a great song was mixed kind of flat. The music and especially the vocals seemed dull (EQ seemed HF rolloff) and vocals sat in the background rather forefront mixed with the music when compared to the tracks ie 6, 7 & 8 produced by Doug Deangelis which I believe were mixed better. Oh, more tracks would have been great too! But being a debut album, I guess that's ok :)
Other than that, great album! Anyone that appreciates good music, great vocals this is the album for you. 10/10!

Jake Simpson Apr 01, 2006 We really enjoy this CD! We loved seeing him on Star Search & have enjoyed his CD in the years since. All the songs are enjoyable to listen to. The new ones are just as enjoyable as the covers on the second half of the CD. I agree with the reviewers who said they would have liked it to have been longer. More songs by Jake would have made it that much better!
I'm very glad to hear that Jake is still performing & hope to be able to see him live at some time. One of the articles I read said he signed a deal for 5 albums. Will there be more CD's from Jake soon? I sure hope so.
Diane from St. Louis Mar 16, 2006 My husband and I saw Jake on Star Search and couldn't believe his powerful voice. We then saw him on Oprah and we were so happy to see him meet Stevie Wonder. I think Jake has a fabulous voice and this CD shows off his talent! I can't wait to see more of Jake Simpson.

Awesome singer Mar 16, 2006 For those of you who might be wondering what Jake is up to these days; he is alive and well currently performing in Branson, Missouri. I just did a show with him last night (I'm the bass player) and I can honestly say Jake is one of the best singers I have ever worked with; and I've worked with some good ones. For any of you close enough to make it, he's worth checking out...the hype is deserved.
