bonus track?? Jul 16, 2005 i'm pretty late getting this cd, seeing as how it came out 4 years ago and the band has already broken up, but Soundtrack For A Generation is an awesome album. the only reason i bought it was for "Meet You Halfway There". after listening to the rest of the album, it was definitely worth my money =].
i do have one question though, has anyone else noticed that the last track is really over 10 minutes long, and that there's another track after "October Skies" (it starts a little after the 8-minute mark)? if anyone knows what's the title, could you let me know? thanks. =]
A Hot Prospect for the future Dec 29, 2003 Student Rick maybe the best punk pop band i've heard in a long time.Their Debut album 'Soundtrack for a Generation', speaks for itself, its not for a adult in their 30s, but for a teenager who experiences emotional times in their lfe and needs time to chill out, and listen to this brilliant crafted album, this is the generation the album is aimed at.Throughout the album there is a mix of moods, songs like 'Monday morning' and 'Falling for you' are yet bright songs but can be very emotional at times.Other songs like 'October skies' and Hideaway',are very deep songs which sets the mood.'Soundtrack for a generation' is not 10 out 10 album, two songs which are 'Yesterday' and 'In the cold' are ok songs but let the album down, but this is their first album, and its a brilliant start from Student rick, in the future, more albums from them could be ten times better. But at the momenmt i strongly advise you to buy this album. You won't regret it.

AMAZING band, something that fits every mood. Nov 13, 2002 Student Rick has every aspect of what defines an amazing band. I wake up to 'Soundtrack for a Generation' almost every morning because its just so good. Their music has just enough punk but also other sounds that keep you hooked. Every song is different and just as good as the last one. I have a Student Rick shirt that I proudly sport, lol. They are so awesome, I can't describe it. Just get this CD.

South Bend Oct 02, 2002 This is definately the biggest band in the South Bend Punk Scene(it's quite a scene, laugh out loud). I know several of the punk bands in the area and I'm just glad to see one signed, in addition to the slightly-local Mustard Plug which is close to my birth place, but hey, I didn't move all that far, well actually I live in the ... city of bristol, but I lived in South Bend and Kalmazoo before I moved here. I saw Mustard Plug play last week and man did they blow me away. I missed Student Rick but I know alot of peope who saw them play at some coffe-house/bookstore they use to play at but they won't let them play there anymore(I'm so jealous), I'm more into regular punk than pop/punk or emo but I'm so proud of my local heros that I DON'T CARE!... Well done Student Rick!...Raise the flag high for the city of SOUTH BEND, make me proud!...
Soundtrack for Life Jul 12, 2002 If you are looking for a CD that will never have to be removed from your stereo, Student Rick's 'Soundtrack for a Generation' is it! The most amazing part of this CD is the versatility of the music. You have fast punk rock with 'Falling for You' and mellow acoustic with 'Meet Me Halfway There." These are the two extremes of the record, the rest of the CD covers almost ever sound in between. Furthermore, the CD covers a vast range of emotions. 'South of Blackford' chronicles the decision to follow one's dreams despite the consequences. 'Through the Window' communicates the pain of losing the world with which you are so familiar. This is applicable to someone moving away, going to college, or, in the band's case, leaving for tour. This CD would not be able to break your heart or lift your spirits unless the lyrics were tangible and applicable. For example, in 'Please Forgive Me' we hear that "the right thing is always the hardest thing to do." A familiar scene is depicted in the song 'Monday Morning' with the lyrics "Sunny Monday and nothings going my way, forgotten tragedy, it always rains on me..." Student Rick has reached a new level of excellence with 'Soundtrack for a Generation.' They have given listeners a record that is a Soundtrack for their lives. For all of your sunny Mondays when the rain just won't stop falling or Fridays to 'stay up all night getting drunk and watching sunsets' Student Rick has provided the music, emotion, and lyrics for our youthful generation.
