Fantastic Overview Aug 04, 2008 But , I had to get Mirrow Images , Mid to Mid and Forever Now cds to relly capture the real picture of the Furs ... Nostalgia and complete cd's happen to be very important , there is no substitute . As i said , fantastic collection .

Definitive and worthy Mar 18, 2003 This is the definitive Furs collection. I do not see the need to buy every collection that's out there. Buy the actual albums instead. This one takes you from the early years through the nineties and offers off-the-beaten tracks and numbers that add some variety.Richard Butler is a tremendous performer who lends such edginess and beauty to the lyrics and the sounds. Working with various producers through the years makes this one fun in the sense of listening to so many songs on two discs. Lots of diversity.

Essential for the 80's collector or a long-lost fan or both Aug 06, 2002 This is an anthology that was long overdue--the 'Furs' were never the most prolific of bands, but they certainly deserved better than to be relegated to a third-tier song on the slap-dash 'Wedding Singer' soundtrack in this day and age. Purists may be expecting more b-sides or live tracks, but whether you're the casual listener or the afficianado, this package has it all. If you're not entirely convinced that you need to spend your dollars so rashly, you can settle for either "Mirror Moves" or the earlier compilation "All of This and Nothing." I won't discount their later material, but it really is their 80's output that's the most interesting.

the earlier material is great Jul 06, 2002 the first cd is great stuff, with richard butler's hoarse, john lydon-esque vocals mesmerizing within the context of a very good, adventurous, original band -- the live "mack the knife" is incredible. but the second cd is pretty bad, as they tried to repeat the surprise hit "love my way" and gradually turned into butler's backing unit rather than a dynamic collective. the lure of filthy lucre corrupts almost all of us as we leave our twenties, etc. they had a good run, far better than most, and a unique approach which still sounds excellent cranked up loud.
Good collection Jul 04, 2002 I have loved The Furs since, what 1985? And they still get me going all this time later. They are THE BEST BAND to come out of the British Wave, and are highly under-rated. This compilation takes you from the raw undulating post punk genre (India, Imitation of Christ, Soap Commercial) to The Furs commercial successes (Ghost in You, Heaven, Heartbreak Beat) very nicely. Richard Butler and crew can sing, play, and get your heart rate up. I recommend driving, FAST, and LOUD with this in your car stereo. If you have never heard The Furs, give this a try. If you are a long time fan, this is the set for you. There a few songs I wish they had included though, such as Shadow in My Heart. But what the hey, overall, this is a great collection from a great band, that still rocks my soul.
