Beware! 2 different versions!! Jul 11, 2009 Make sure you get the original: It says "Epic Associated" on the spine. It was reissued a few years ago - says "Loosegroove" on the spine -- but without the potty-mouthed distorted voice at the end of the last track. This was at Shawn Smith's behest.

Touching and emotional... Feb 26, 2004 Brad conveys emotion like Monet could paint flowers...with a natural ease and a unique style that cannot be denied. The uplifting songs on this album will make you feel elated, while the softer ballad-type songs will have you weeping like a child. When I first bought this, I could only listen to it in small doses. Too much would wear me out emotionally, and I would be put off from listening to it again for a long time. I only play it once every 2 years or so, but I still consider it one of my favorites. I remember back in '94, driving my car in the rain, singing along, and all of a sudden, I'm sobbing like my dog died. A few songs later, I'm bobbing my head along to the music like I don't have a care in the world. It's that magical. Most musicians can only dream of crafting songs this real.

Still after 10+ years...One of the most essential cds to own Feb 07, 2003 ... I couldnt believe i only spent a buck on it. I have since then moved on to cds. What can I say about this album...Shawn Smith is by far the most underrated song writers..while gossards trem-grooved layers drift over smiths falseto runs. Even more underappreciated are Jeremy Toback and Regan Hagar. Toback has since had a one hit wonder under his belt..."you make me feel" or something like the sort. Interiors was a more polished record, but the cd player keeps "shame" spinning away. Melodic, moody, sad, happy, groove-oriented, anti-pop. Groove in the middle of the grunge era... A TRUE GEM INDEED!!!

Shame (on you if you don't have this album) Nov 24, 2002 Essential music for the serious soulful individual tired of the mindless garb of radio. Beautifully written, the delivery of each song is nothing short of mindblowing. I heard this album for the first time 10 years ago, and from the first few bars of "Buttercup" I was hooked. Shawn Smith, is an incredible singer full of raw emotion. The whole album is one of the best, but my favorite song (one I still have to hear every day) is 20th Century ~ GROOOOOOOV-O-MATIC! If you don't own this album, waste no time in buying it, you won't be sorry.

Different and Refreshing Jul 20, 2002 I used to kinda smirk when my roomate put this cd in, then something started to happen. Soon I started to really listen, it opened my mind, I think maybe the first song must of brought me down a little. I found out this if the kinda mood music a person needs to have around, "an esential album". I bought the second album a few years later, I love it, but Shame, difently has a different, unique kinda feel. Most of the songs on here are mesmorizing, very groovy, and quite possibly some of the best music that you never heard on the radio.
