Mediocrity is alive and well Oct 15, 2009 "Evil is alive and well": a dreary voice sings monotonous lyrics. For some reason, my local Borders played this ad nauseam, driving customers from the store. Bob D also couldn't sing, but he did write interesting lyrics, unlike Jacob.

Strong songs, a relaxed recording - mellow rock/folk Oct 02, 2009 Seeing Things is Jakob Dylan's first solo effort, and a far cry from his former roll as front man for The Wallflowers. Songs here feature exclusively solo acoustic guitars and light percussion behind Dylan's husky singing voice - production by Rick Rubin is honest and laid-back, allowing the songs to stand on their own. It can't be easy being Bob Dylan's son (or maybe it can), but this Dylan's tunes are worthy of attention too. GENRES: Contemporary Folk, Mellow Rock.
BUY IF YOU LIKE: Jackson Browne, Greg Brown.
MUST HEAR TRACKS: "Evil Is Alive and Well," "All Day and All Night," "Will It Grow."

Great tunes Sep 13, 2009 I heard one of the songs on sattelite radio at work, kept little notes as to the lyrics and searched it on google. THen I heard another song and lo and behold, it was the same artist. So I came to good ol' AMazon ond bought the cd.

Great Cd Aug 22, 2009 This CD brings back memories of his father. But you can see that he is his own man. The songs are great and I first heard it on Austin City Limits Show.

Best album of the year Aug 01, 2009 After a few good plays this "Seeing Things" by Jakob Dylan became one of my 'desert island' albums. This album marries his strong folksy voice, his inventive music arrangements, and his highly poetic original lyrics. The result has a lot of beauty. I've been a fan of some of the wallflowers work, but this breaks through to a totally different level. It just gets better and better with each listening and my favorite song changes over time. Easy-going, melodic, and yet soulful tough and individual. Similar to Bob's work, different of course, and just as good in its own way.
