Description:

After releasing Screaming for Vengeance in 1982, Judas Priest began a creative slide from which they've never recovered. However, if you're going to be remembered for something, it might as well be a record as heavy, incisive, and melodic as Screaming. The disc features the band's biggest hit, "You've Got Another Thing Coming," a sonic inferno that is as hook-laden as it is heavy. But the album also contains uncompromising turbo-blasts such as the title track and the steely "Electric Eye." Throughout, Rob Halford growls and sings in a voice that could at high volumes kill rodents and small dogs, and guitarists K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton unleash their arsenal of inspired and engaging riffs. Classic. The 2001 remastered reissue includes two bonus tracks--a previously unavailable studio extra called "Prisoner of Your Eyes" and a live take on "Devil's Child." --Jon Wiederhorn

4An Essential Metal Album?  Sep 21, 2009
I had no thoughts to buy this album until I find it on a list in which it was ranked as one of the essential metal albums of all time. That list was quite good but I cannot understand why they chose this one. This one is a great album but the albums like "Sad Wings of Destiny" and "Stained Class" are true classics. You could say that many Priest fans were happy while listening to this in 1982. It was a great improvement from "Point of Entry" which was a big disappointment for many Priest fans. I am not saying that this is a bad album at all. There's many great songs, such as "(Take These) Chains" and the title track. But still...there's two songs I don't like so much: "Fever" and "Pain And Pleasure".
Stars: Screaming for Vengeance, (Take These) Chains, You've Got Another Thing Comin'

5The last good Priest album... at least before Painkiller...  Aug 24, 2009
Let's face it, SFV is the band's last good album before Painkiller arrived. Defenders of the Faith sucked, Turbo was worse, and Ram it Down was the nail in the coffin. Thank god Robby waited at least one more album before leaving... songs like "Electric Eye", "Take These Chains", "Bloodstone" and "You Got Another Thing Comin'" are some of Priest's best songs yet. The bonus tracks are a good addition and in total, this album is a must for any metal fan. I know this review is short, but words are not enough to describe how awesome this album is.

5Love the Priest  May 03, 2009
One of my favorite albums of all time. Grew up listening to this stuff as a kid but with the remastered CD it sounds so much better. No if they could just rematser some of the other 80's metal bands out there ....
