 Who Knew Being a Christian Could Rock So Hard! Jul 28, 2009
I had never heard of Disciple until a few weeks ago. But it only took hearing two of their songs to make them my new favorite band. This whole album is so good. Tracks 5 and 7 are my very favorites, but they are all good. And I think it is just wonderful that there are bible verses listed with each song's lyrics. But brace yourself - this is not for the faint of heart. This band really rocks!

Ironically, I actually listened to this cd after I listened to Southern Hospitality. I think I like Southern Hospitality a tad better as a whole album, however, "Game On" is probably my favorite of Disciple's songs. Its great because its fun to play at like sports events but it has a powerful message too. If some of you dont like the rapcore sound as much, I understand. I love it, however. When I hear "Game On," or any of the other songs on this cd for that matter, I just want to start jumping around and headbanging. Any Christian hard rock fan who has not heard this cd is seriously deprived.

This is the first CD I've bought by Disciple and I'm not disappointed. I listen to it every morning on the stair climber at the gym to keep my momentum going! LOL!
Disciple knows how to put good tunes together. They have great riffs with the chunky Drop-D tuned guitars and Zakk Wylde like squeals, but more than that...they sing of the love of Jesus and how He's made a difference in their lives and how He can make a difference in ours.
No getting around the fact that these guy's are born again and on fire for the Kingdom! I love every song on this CD.
However, if I had one little, tiny wish it would be for some shred-guitar like A7X does it. They actually remind me a lot of A7X with their heaviness mixed with extreme melody. It's truly awesome, just add some shred and you've got the perfect band.

Great songs on here some of them are better than othiers. alot hard beating than the very release before. Like Regime Chage and Dive as well as Game On. Which disciple displays great rock songs on here.

"Scars Remain" is one of Disciple's heaviest offerings to date. The self-titled album preceding this one had a more melodic tone to it, and that can still be found here, but this Southern Gospel has a whole lot more barking, screeching and clawing to it. In short, this is full-on heavy metal that rocks. Songs like "Regime Change" and "Game On" provide plenty of fist-pumping, and "Fight For Love" has anthem potential despite being one of the tamer tunes on the album. The entire album is very addictive, and you'll find yourself barking along with the whole album soon enough.
If you enjoy heavy metal with blistering guitars and screeching vocals, this is the album for you. It's one of the best I've heard from current Christian and secular metal bands. I highly recommend it.
