Description:

Rock And Roll At 50 is a one-of-a-kind concert celebration of Rock ’n’ Roll’s 50th birthday with early rockers Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Gary U.S. Bonds, pop rockers Lesley Gore, Paul & Paula, Darlene Love, and early British Invasion icons Gerry Marsden of Gerry and The Pacemakers and The Manfreds (successor to Manfred Mann) plus many more as they remind us that "Rock and Roll Is Here To Stay."

The concert was recorded live on May 13 and 14, 2003, at The Benedum Center For The Performing Arts and on May 18, 2003 at the Camberley Theatre, Surrey, England and first broadcast as a PBS pledge special in December. It's now available to own on DVD.

5Rock and Roll At Fifty  Jun 27, 2009
Rock and Roll At Fifty is a must for pop music fans. Performances by
Jack Scott, Brian Hyland, Johnny Tillotson and Lesley Gore are first
class all the way plus all the others on this five star DVD are just
sensational as well. This is a thoroughly professional production with 22
solid performances plus backstage interviews with Bo Diddley, Darlene Love and Paul and Paul. As I said, it's a must for pop music fans.

I was really pleased with this DVD, as was my husband. It was good to see some of the rock & roll singers performing today. They all looked good and sounded good. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of rock & roll.

1Depressing  Nov 09, 2006
Seeing what's become of the rock and roll legends I remember from when we were much younger, I found very depressing. I'd rather remember them the way they were 40 yrs ago. Even Jerry Lee looked like he was ready for the nursing home.
