Wow!! Blues Metal!! Mar 10, 2010 Rhythmeen is by far the heaviest, hardest, and most rocking ZZ Top album ever!! I was totally shocked at how the trio went all out for this one. I really respect the fact that these guys decided to go back to their roots. The whole MTV 80's thing ran its course, and while it wasn't bad, I still nevertheless prefer the pre-Deguello era (1970-77), as well as this release. The songs have attitude, and simply rock hard with metalish guitar. There are 5 absolutely stellar tracks, and they include RHYTHMEEN, BANG BANG, VINCENT PRICE BLUES, HAIRDRESSER, and SHE's JUST KILLING ME. The latter is probably my favorite song on the album. ZZ Top is known as "That Little 'Ol Band From Texas", but they make their presence known on this one!! 8.5/10
Long time fan Apr 26, 2009 I had thought I collected all the albums. Not sure how I missed this one.
ZZ Top comes back heavy! Apr 17, 2009 After many people bashed ZZ Top's use of the electric drumset and techno sounds in their 80's, they've decided to break it up a bit with some real heavy guitar riffs and some nasty riffs that you'll remember the rest of the day.
Slick guitar riffs and heavy drums make up the title track, "Rhythmeen", while a slower but more detailed "Vincent Price Blues" allows for some fantastic slow-down blues riffs.
This is one of ZZ Top's best releases to date, and by far is one album I have not gotten tired of listening to. Buy it, enjoy it, and remember that ZZ Top is famous for a reason - they deliver, and they deliver well.
ZZZo good Apr 06, 2009 It was great I Love ZZ Tops music.

texas rock at its best Feb 12, 2009 zz top's hardest rocking album. this underappreciated and radio-less masterpiece showcases billy gibbons' guitar work from start to finish. from the opening riffs of the title song, to the lethal jamming on vincent price blues, this album is for real zz top fans. thankfully, with no 80's era keyboards seeing the light of day here, the boys stick to what they know best: sizzling southern rock. with humor, zz top even covers a sex change on my personal favorite, zipper job. drinking, as always, is joyously celebrated on loaded, and the album ends strong with billy rocking on hummbucking part II. always a sign of a great album - when the last song ends you grab another beer and start playing it again. this is rhythmeen.
