ACCEPT...NO SUBSTITUTE! Apr 08, 2009 Accept guitarist Wolf Hoffmann, along with with Akira Takasaki of Loudness, has written some of the best metal riffs ever. When Accept was on top of their game, like they are on this disc, few metal bands, if any, can touch them. These guys write great songs, it's not all about loud thrashing, these guys write classic metal songs and deliver them with the power to back them up.
I have loved the track Fast As A Shark for as long as I can remember. When Udo Dirkschneider lets out that scream it's time to follow the band or get the heck out of the way. Stefan Kaufman's double bass drums are fast and furious! Not for the faint of heart. This is metal for men by men. I've seen these guys twice and they are the real deal. Get this disc already!!

balls out Nov 08, 2007 the first track, fast as a shark was one of the first speed metal songs ever, accept are not a speed metal band though.I bought this in 82 and when this came out it was golden.accept progessively got worse in their career in my opinion, this is their best, the rest of the album is also good, this is a good solid 80`s real metal disc.
this is metal folks! Mar 19, 2007 if you like metal even a bit you must own this classic album!
believe it brothers and sisters!
ROCK!!!
A Classic Piece Of Metal History!!! Dec 08, 2006 With Restless And Wild Accept finally found the trademark sound that made them a household name in the 80s! Although many would say that they sounded a little too much like Ac/Dc, I and many others would strongly disagree with that. The vocal stylings of Udo are unmistakable and the guitar playing of Wolf is far more technical then that of Angus (over in the Ac/Dc camp). I am a huge fan of both bands but I don't think they are that similar. On Restless And Wild,Accept are far more aggressive then anything on their past albums. In fact,it almost seems too much, all pedal to the metal,so to speak. It is almost undeniable that "Fast As A Shark" is one of the all time greatest songs to open a concert with, and the title cut "Restless And Wild" will no doubt have you singing along, but even with that going in it's favor,I still can't give it above a 3 star review. Accept is one of my favorite bands and I give them complete credit for standing by the style of music they love and never selling out to follow the current musical trend of the month,I'd love to give them higher than a 3,but the songwriting on "Restless And Wild" in my opinion isn't up to the previous outing "Breaker" or the one to follow, the ultimate Accept "Balls To The Walls". It just feels almost too aggressive.
That being said,if you are new to the band, let me recommend "Breaker","Balls To The Wall" or "Metal Heart",after those, this is a great place to go. The monster style is all here. Accept truly ROCKS!!!
The Pros:Absolutely one of the best guitar sounds I've ever heard on CD.Even the follow-up "Balls To The Wall" doesn't have quite the awesome guitar crunch this one has. It also has some killer tunes,"Fast As A Shark" has a fantastic guitar solo, the title cut "Restless And Wild" is very catchy, but my favorite tune on this album is "Princess Of The Night" which has some very cool dynamics. As always,Udo is in top form. The combination of Udo on lead vocals and Wolf on lead guitar is really tough to beat. They both did an outstanding job on this,as did the rest of the band!
The Cons:In my opinion,it's a little too fast paced the whole way through the album. If you love aggressive music and nothing but, this is the album for you,but I like the melodic side that the band shows more on other releases better. Also,a lot of the songwriting was not very memorable on this album as opposed to the previous or the follow-up.
The Bottom Line:Great sounding metal album, all producers of rock should listen to these guitar tones and take notes. A great CD to listen to when you are feeling aggressive. One of their 5 best but not the best place to start. If you're a fan,you should definitely buy this. Donutman says so!!!

Accept's best Jun 13, 2006 'Restless And Wild' is the best Accept LP bar none. I would even go so far as to say it's probably the best in all of metal. Nothing hits harder then "Fast as a Shark" when those double bass pedals start wailing away. I have yet to hear a song as intense and heavy as shark is. Metal might not be my favorite type of music but i know when i hear something good, this is it. The whole album is very consistant, lots of heavy tracks like "Restless and Wild", "Ahead of the Pack", "Flash Rockin Man" as well as some slow tunes like "Neon Nights" and "Princess of the Dawn". There is even a ac/dc-like pop tune called "Don't Go Stealing My Soul Away". I also must mention that Wolf Hoffmann's guitar on this album has the definative tone and phrasing for heavy metal, it sets the benchmark for what a heavy metal style guitar should sound like.
Udo may only be 5 feet tall and have a horrible voice, but man, he sure can scream.
