Dialate Your Mind Aug 01, 2009 There's an expectation that Duran has a "certain" sound and really, it's too bad because they have always been so much more than surface musicians. This album will be one that is a "great miss." There aren't too many bands now-a-days that carry the true face continuity but I unfortunately think Duran has been categorized as a fluffy boy band since the 80's when that could be at least 80% from the truth.
Goes without saying... May 06, 2009 ...But I'll say it anyway: WTF?? I'm hesitant to join the mass chorus of fans ready to dance on Duran Duran's grave with this obnoxious release, but come on, "Flicky Flicky Flicky"? Say it, Seth Meyer: Really?!?
This is not Duran Duran Apr 21, 2009 I have to totally agree with Josephll "Reformed Music Addict" although I think he gave this album one star too many. The songs on this album are missing guitars which technically makes this not a rock & roll album. The song "Tricked Out" would be great for Halloween though. I love Duran Duran, but this album is not Duran Duran. It could have been so much better. If you're a Duran Duran fan I would avoid this album unless you hate guitars and love synth music.

Should be given more credit Apr 18, 2009 I'm an avid Duran Duran fan, yes, but I still wouldn't recommend this if I didn't fully believe that it is truly genius. Give it a listen, try to not automatically discredit it because you've never liked "The Reflex," and see what you think. You may just be pleasantly surprised and add this to your collection.

After being miffed about Andy's departure I thought I'd give it a try... Apr 18, 2009 If you are into synth techno pop, or you are satisfied merely with the band's looks and image, you will probably like this. If you are into the original DD with rockin' guitar (which is what took them from ordinary popdom to one of the greatest bands ever), you will be disappointed beyond measure with RCM. They are currently working on a new album with Mark Ronson at the helm. I sure hope he brings them back to their former aural glory and not just as some marketing tool focusing on 20-something demographics. "Andy, come back!" is what they should be chanting; I certainly am!
