Great CD Sep 25, 2009 Zap Mama, aka Marie Dulane, is an multiracial singer who is half African and half Belgian. Her music is a fusion of jazz, traditional african music, and scratch (synthesized beats). Her music is spoken word (poetry set to music). It is highly artistic and may not appeal to people who like pop. She sings in French and in English. It is great listening and driving music but may not be the best dance music. Her lyrics convey her personal life philosophies and a deep understanding of life and relationships. Zap Mama's musical stylings can be compared to Erykah Badu and Jill Scott. She has fun with her songs and the music is soulful. Her voice is unique sound which she experiments with on every track. You can here her French Belgian accent when she performs, She is for the more sophisticated listener and her music can be played around children. I recommend this product to all who like to experience new and unique sounds.

Excellence Aug 30, 2009 Hi i just purchased this new Zap Mama cd Recreation and i think Zap Mama stands above most neo-soul artists. my favorite songs here are 1. Paroles Paroles, this song makes me peaceful i love it so much - 2. Do You Wanna with Bilal - this guy has got to release another album i'm dying to buy him, he makes this song become something else. 3. African Diamond too is a beautiful track. how can i forget 4. Drifting w/G Love- listen to his flow there, he is so swift.5. Togetherness- the way she plays with her voice there kind of reminds me of the Amazone album which to me is her best album with Acenstry In Progress- all in all the album is worth buying, that is if you if Zap Mama is your kind of woman like she is with me, i buy just about all her albums. this album is not however an album i absorbed instantly like the "Supermoon" i'm taking my time with it. buy it and see what you have to say.

Wonderful CD! Jul 23, 2009 I am so shocked there have been no reviews for this CD yet! I guess I'll have to be the first one to say that this CD is great, one song after another. My favorites are Singing Sisters, Harlem, Parole Parole, No No No. The whole CD is fun to listen to. This CD has more of a world music feel than their last CD Supermoon. Again, if you are a Zap Mama fan or if you just like good music, you should add this CD to your collection.
