Betty Tries Too Hard on this one Sep 11, 2009 I am a true Betty Buckley fan but this CD was a disappointment. She tries too hard to be "cool jazz cabaret" and , at least for me , it doesn't work.

Please No More Dissonant Piano Backup! Jul 08, 2009 One of the very few less than perfect Betty Buckley albums. With a miraculous instrument and an ability to produce the definitive version of just about anything she sings, I am so disappointed that she chooses the dissonant backup arrangements (if that's the word- sounds more random than arranged) of Mr. Werner on a number of the songs. It's just irritating and I want to skip to the next track. She should stick to arrangements that will allow us to simply get lost in her interpretation of a song and not jar us with a discordant back up. She's better than this.

Betty Is Still The Cats Meow ! Apr 05, 2008 Whether Betty Buckley is singing Broadway tunes like "Something's Coming" from Westside Story and "The Surrey with The Fringe On Top" from Oklahoma or putting her own spin on such songs like "Cry Me A River", her voice truly remains one of the great wonders of the world! I would, personally, listen to her sing the alphabet. I love her that much! Betty and her arranger and pianist of almost 18 years,Kenny Werner, bring out the best in each other. She uses her rich, strong voice on each song to paint a very vivid picture. I highly recommend this cd. It is a very worthy listening experience.

Same lazy diza stuff from her Apr 04, 2008 Buckley has had a great voice for many years, but the reason she is not a true star is, she is abusive toward people everywhere, and obsessed with promoting her own genius. She has failed to keep her voice in shape, the wobble is pushing into her voice, and it shows on this album. Too bad, such a voice and such a talent.
